Boxing Odds: Fury Opens as Heavy Favorite Over UFC Legend Ngannou

It didn’t take long after the Ngannou-Fury fight was announced for sportsbooks to set odds for the match. Betonline.ag quickly made Fury a heavy favorite to retain his WBC title over Ngannou. They announced the Fury-Ngannou odds via their Twitter account.

It comes as no surprise that Tyson Fury is the odds on favorite in the matchup. He has had a storied career of his own in the sport of boxing and will not need to transition to a new fighting style for the October bout. The 34-year old boxer is 33-0-1 on his career, including 24 wins by knockout. His only draw came against Deontay Wilder in December of 2018 in Los Angeles. The fight was the first in a trilogy between Fury and Wilder, with Fury winning the second and third fights to secure his status as the top name in the sport.

Ngannou will look to change that by making a huge splash on October 2018. The early Fury-Ngannou odds indicate that oddsmakers aren’t confident in his ability to do. If Ngannou does make the transition to boxing he will cement himself as an all-time great fighter across multiple disciplines. He’ll also quickly ascent to the title, winning the WBC heavyweight championship belt. Tyson Fury captured the belt from Wladimir Klitschko in 2015.
