If there is one thing that both Garcia and Davis agree on, it is that this fight is not going the distance. Both plan on showcasing their elite knockout ability to gain an edge over their opponent. At the media event earlier in the week, the star fighters debated over who was going to put the other to sleep.
“I guess he’ll just have to wait and see when we’re in there why I’m so special,” Garcia said to Davis, per MMA Junkie. “He can’t see it but he’ll see it once we’re in there. You’re laughing but I’m dead serious.
“It’s going to happen and it’s going to be over quick, so quick.”
Davis found himself amused with Garcia’s prediction, offering a quick retort.
“C’mon, bro. I touch that jaw and I’m telling you you’re going to sleep,” he said.
Garcia last fought in July of last year, handing a knockout loss to Javier Fortuna. He has a vast social media following thanks to his impressive compilation of vicious knockouts. But a win over Davis would put him in a whole new light and cement his status as one of the best pound-for-pound fighters in the world.
Davis comes in with a much more impressive resume, holding the WBA regular lightweight title. Although Garcia is the No. 1 ranked contender, this fight will not be for the official title. Still, that does not diminish the magnitude of this spectacle.
The Gervonta Davis-Ryan Garcia odds & props show Davis is the clear favorite and for good reason. Look for “Tank” to assert his dominance, landing the finishing blow on Garcia before the final bell.
