Rookie Tanner Bibee has the pleasure of facing off against the St. Louis Cardinals and their loaded offense, especially against right-handed pitching. Lars Nootbar and Paul Goldschmidt both rake against right-handed pitching, but we’re targeting a hitter lower in the Cardinals lineup. Paul DeJong is our featured Cardinals-Guardians bet for Saturday, May 27.

Cardinals-Guardians Bet: Paul DeJong O/U 0.5 Hits
When diving into the Cardinals lineup, you think of a few names right off the bat. Paul Goldschmidt and Nolan Arenado. Rightfully so, as those two have been premier hitters in the game for the last decade. The sportsbooks are sharp and juice their props to the point where they are unplayable. Luckily for us, using OddsShopper Premium gives us the best value for a prop in the Cardinals-Guardians game. That prop features right-handed hitter Paul DeJong.
Dejong has been solid in 29 games this season. He offers a unique ability to hit right-handed pitching better than left-handed pitching. We call that reverse splits in the baseball world. The 29-year-old has a batting average of .273 against RHP-second best on the team.
Tanner Bibee is in the same boat as DeJong. The RHP struggles against right-handed batters. He allows a .273 batting average and throws primarily a fastball; 46% of the time to be exact. That’s great news for us. DeJong is hitting fastballs at a .429 clip with an 88.8 exit velocity.
DeJong will most likely be tucked in the six-hole tonight as most of the order at the top is set in stone. DeJong has registered a hit in 16 of 27 games this season but has been held hitless in his last two games. Going from facing off against Shane Bieber to rookie Tanner Bibee will be a breath of fresh air for DeJong.
Remember to bet this prop on either DraftKings or Caesars as they void non-starters.
