Best Early MLB Bet: Rockies Away from Coors Field
The Rockies are the opposing team for this series, so we won’t have the high altitude in play. Although the Rockies have had limited plate appearances against left-handed pitchers on the road, they’ve struggled with a .217 batting average. The Pirates just recalled Luis Ortiz to start tonight with Vince Velasquez on the IL. It remains to be seen how deep Ortiz will go but the Pirates may need Hill to go deep tomorrow. The Rockies, this season, are hitting .240 against left-handed pitchers with an OBP percentage that ranks in the bottom 12.
The Rockies will most likely stack right-handed bats. Righties are hitting .297 against Hill. But, Hill already faced off against this Rockies team at Coors Field. He went six innings and allowed only one run. The second time around will be tougher for Hill since most batters will have seen him twice in less than a month but that could result in early outs if the Rockies are swinging early in the count. They see the seventh fewest pitches per plate appearance.
This number should open between 16.5-17.5 depending on how deep Ortiz goes tonight. As long as it’s within playable odds, it’s a play for me.
Best Early MLB Bet: Rich Hill Over on Outs (15.5-17.5 at playable odds)
