Best MLB Player Prop Bet | Jake Lamb O/U 1.5 Hits + Runs + RBI

Jake Lamb is a name that not many have heard of since his days as an Arizona Diamondback. The simplest word to describe him is journeyman. The Angels are his seventh team since 2020, but Lamb has not suited up for a team for more than 50 games since 2019. He is a left-handed bat that has not hit better than .230 against right-handed pitching in five years. He is making the start at first base today, as Shohei Ohtani is on the mound. Lamb will be hitting sixth in the batting order, which will limit his at-bats and give bettors a better chance to cash this MLB player prop bet.

Lamb will be opposed by Brayan Bello. On paper Bello had a tough season last year, but hitters had an expected batting average of only .247, as opposed to their actual .315. Bello’s is an arm the Sox want to build around, especially with teammate Chris Sale winding down. Bello had reverse splits last season, meaning he pitched better against left-handed batters than he did against right-handed batters.

Bello most likely will not go deep into this game, so this bet is banking on the bullpen getting to Lamb as well. On the young season, the Boston bullpen ranks in the middle of the pack in ERA. That is impressive on its own since the starters for the Red Sox failed to pitch into the sixth inning in almost all of their games.

Lamb is off to a rough start to his 2023 campaign. He’s hitting .172 and has stayed under this line in five of eight games in which he had at least three at-bats. With the forecast calling for fog and rain, expect an ugly showing from Lamb.
