Best Home Run Picks Today: FanDuel’s Dinger Tuesday
J.D. Martinez +360 | Los Angeles Dodgers vs. Arizona Diamondbacks
Let’s pick out of a hat which Dodgers batter is hitting a home run tonight. J.D. Martinez wins. Martinez offers a ton of power in the middle of the Dodgers lineup and has been an RBI machine. He ranks in the top 15 in RBI and in home runs as well, with 25 homers this season and 21 coming off righties.
Arizona Diamondbacks pitcher Brandon Pfaadt has had an uninspiring rookie season. He has an ERA of 7.11 and has allowed a home run in nine of his 10 starts in the major leagues. He ranks in the bottom 10 percentile in hard hit rate, expected slugging and opponent barrel percentage. Martinez offers the best skillset to hit one out against his former team where he spent a half a season.
Francisco Lindor +370 | Chicago Cubs vs. New York Mets
Francisco Lindor was a pick in this space last week, and he went yard two days later. It is a good time to jump back on board. Lindor will be playing at home tonight, with over 15 mph winds blowing out. Lindor may not be hitting for average, but he is finding ways to drive the ball out. His 22 home runs ranks in the top 25 in all of baseball with 13 of them coming off righties.
Jameson Taillon will get the ball for the Cubs and look to escape out of New York without getting shelled. Taillon has been effective in his last few starts, allowing fewer than three earned runs in his last three, but opponents have accumulated 21 hits during that stretch. He has gotten out of trouble plenty of times but may struggle tonight, with the Mets slugging at a top-5 rate in August against righties. They have hit the third-most home runs to open the month, and Lindor should showcase his power at home, where he has hit a home run in two of his last three games.
