Best Home Run Picks Today: FanDuel’s Dinger Tuesday

Marcell Ozuna +400 | Los Angeles Angels vs. Atlanta Braves

This game has the makings to max out on $25 free bets. Patrick Sandoval gets the task of limiting damage against the best offense in the league in the Atlanta Braves, while Spencer Strider has been susceptible to giving up the home run ball this season with 18. Marcell Ozuna is hitting .260 against left-handed pitchers and has seven home runs this season.

Ozuna is riding into August on a hot streak. Before last night, he was rocking a three-game home run streak, including one game with two bombs. He ended July with six home runs and added three doubles to solidify him in the top 20 in home runs this season with 22. He gets overlooked in an offense with the projected MVP and five All-Stars hitting in front of him.

Patrick Sandoval has been known to struggle with his command, so we’ll be lucky if Ozuna sees him three times. He’s averaging over two walks a game and has made it into the sixth inning in only one of his last five games. From a home run standpoint, he’s let up just seven, but all have come against righties. The wind will be blowing in, but with the weather calling for close to 90 degrees in Atlanta, expect the ball to fly for both teams.

Francisco Lindor +520 | New York Mets vs. Kansas City Royals

It’s an NL East kind of day. Like Ozuna, Francisco Lindor is scorching hot, hitting .327 and four home runs against right-handed pitchers in July. Before the Mets’ off day yesterday, Lindor homered in back-to-back games against the Nationals and totaled six hits in four games. He offers power from both sides of the plate, which will come in handy against a Royals bullpen that has the third-worst ERA this season.

Lindor will be opposed by righty Zack Greinke, who has given up 20 home runs this season — 16th most in the majors. He’s coming off a start against Cleveland where he gave up two home runs in five innings. That made it 13 of 20 starts with a long ball surrendered this season. Greinke’s low walk and strikeout rates, which rank in the bottom 10% of all pitchers, will give Mets hitters plenty of opportunities to go yard tonight.
