Best Home Run Picks Today: FanDuel’s Dinger Tuesday

Corey Seager +450 | Texas Rangers vs. Arizona Diamondbacks

Here is who your AL MVP would be if Shohei Ohtani were not having one of the most remarkable seasons in MLB history. Corey Seager has led the Texas Rangers atop the AL West due to his sensational splits against right-handed pitching. Seager ranks right behind the Marlins’ Luiz Arraez as the best hitter against right-handed pitching, with an average of .349. He’s raked 16 home runs off right-handers this season, including three in his last 10 games.

Tonight Seager and the Rangers offense will battle NL Cy Young candidate Zac Gallen. Gallen was sensational on paper in his last start against the San Diego Padres. He allowed just one run in over six innings of work. But it’s the advanced metrics that caught my eye. Thanks to Baseball Savant, they distinguished that over 10 balls were hit upwards of 100 mph off the bat and were registered as outs — lucky for Gallen, to say the least.

Seager and Gallen will be must-see television tonight in Arizona. Two of the best in the game are going head-to-head, and I give Seager the advantage tonight, as he is +EV on FanDuel.

Manny Machado +420 | Miami Marlins vs. San Diego Padres

We dove into Marlins starting pitcher Jesus Luzardo earlier in our top MLB player prop bet for Marlins-Padres — full fade job. Luzardo has been awful in August, with right-handed batters destroying him. With that, here comes Manny Machado.

Machado has found great success against left-handed pitching this season, especially since the All-Star Break. He’s hitting .360 with three home runs. The familiarity against Luzardo should come up huge tonight. He has two career home runs against Luzardo in just six plate appearances. This season, Luzardo has given up his fair share of home runs — 21, to be exact. Eighteen have come against right-handed hitters, including eight in only three starts in August.

Machado makes the most sense out of any Padres hitter tonight. Juan Soto hasn’t hit a home run since Aug. 2, and Fernando Tatis Jr. is hitting .136 against left-handed pitching in the last 30 days. With Luzardo’s glaring struggles this month, Machado finds himself atop our Dinger Tuesday list.
