It’s not every day that you get a chance to fade a mediocre minor-league pitcher at the major-league level, but that’s exactly what we’ve got tonight. The Arizona Diamondbacks will start RHP Brandon Pfaadt (0-2) again. He started five games for the team in May and recorded an 8.37 ERA and 7.19 xERA, the seventh-worst performance in the metric among eligible pitchers.
Pfaadt has struggled against left-handed batters. As a minor-league pitcher this year, he has allowed a .989 OPS to lefties, giving up 21 extra-base hits and nine home runs in 157 plate appearances. In May, he gave up a .966 OPS to major-league lefties with seven extra-base hits and three home runs across 60 plate appearances. Let’s lock in some action on a pair of Tampa Bay lefties tonight.
