Best Padres-Cubs MLB Prop Bet: Cubs Tee Off on Blake Snell (April 25)

Two southpaw pitchers will battle it out on Tuesday Night in the Windy City. Blake Snell for the San Diego Padres will have his hands full against a stingy Chicago Cubs offense that sees the seventh most pitches per plate appearance. We’re banking on a Cubs offensive outbreak early as they top our best MLB prop bet of the night via DraftKings.

Best MLB Prop Bet: Chicago Cubs O/U 1.5 Runs First 5 Innings

The Cubs have turned heads with their play to start the 2023 season. In what most thought would be the worst division in baseball, the NL Central has three teams above .500 with the pre-season favorite St. Louis Cardinals on the outside looking in. The acquisition of Cody Bellinger and Dansby Swanson has the Cubs ranking as a top-five offense in the league in terms of batting average, on-base percentage, and slugging against left-handed pitching. Tonight, they’ll look to rattle Blake Snell early as the southpaw has struggled to start the season.

Looking at advanced numbers, Snell is lucky to only have a 6.00 ERA. Opponents weighted on-base percentage is at the bottom 10 percentile of the league at .407 and an expected ERA of 6.88. He has faced top offenses in the Atlanta Braves and New York Mets, but the Cubs are respectively in that same conversation. They scored a combined eight runs against Dodgers lefties Julio Urias and Clayton Kershaw including four in the 1st inning this past series.

The Cubs will most likely lead it off with five right-handed bats in a row that pose a big threat to Snell. He’s allowed at least two runs in the first five innings in all four games this season and expect that to continue tonight.
