Julio Urias O/U 17.5 Outs
Seeing the Rockies away from Coors Field deserves attention. Against a southpaw like Julio Urias, it makes it even better. Urias worked through the Rockies earlier this season. He threw six shutout innings while throwing 87 pitches, and he has been ramped up in his last few starts. Urias threw 95 pitches his last time out to make it three of his last four starts throwing over 90 pitches. The workload will be there today; Urias just has to execute.
Urias doesn’t specialize in punching batters out, but he does a great job at limiting baserunners via the walk. He ranks in the 89th percentile in walk rate and has only issued at least two walks in seven of 17 starts this season. The Rockies’ bottom-5 strikeout and walk rates against lefties this season should have Urias commanding the zone all game long and coast through six innings, which he has accomplished in seven of nine starts.
Clayton Kershaw dealt earlier in this series in his first game back from the IL. He went five innings in just 67 pitches while allowing zero walks and three hits. Urias can be just as efficient today against the Rockies, who are hitting below .225 against lefties on the road. Look for Urias to build off one of his best starts of the season in a must-bet spot.
