Best MLB Player Prop: Spencer Strider | July 15
Spencer Strider Prop O/U 4.5 Hits Allowed
Don’t look now, but Spencer Strider is coming for that NL CY Young Award. He currently sits behind Zac Gallen who is listed as the favorite on FanDuel Sportsbook at +250. Both Gallen and Strider will be in action today so we will most likely see some movement. Let’s dive into today’s top prop in the White Sox-Braves game; Spencer Strider under 4.5 hits allowed.
Out of all the MLB player prop markets, this one tops the list for me. There are so many outs when backing this prop. I tend to target pitchers who strikeout plenty of batters but also tend to give batters free passes via the walk. Strider fits that mold. He ranks in the top 99 percentile in K% and 53rd in BB%. But the most important statistic behind all this is his xBA. It’s near the top of the league. Opponents are expected to hit just .201 against the hard-throwing righty.
As we dive into this matchup, Chicago looks to be in even more trouble. They were just shutout by veteran Charlie Morton who allowed just three hits in seven innings of work. It’s a ticking time bomb in Chicago as they are 8.5 games back behind the .500 Minnesota Twins and need to be selling before it’s too late.
Strider struggled towards the middle of the first half of the season but is coming off a dominant performance against the AL top seeded Tampa Bay Rays before the break. He registered 11 K’s and allowed just four hits in 6.1 innings. He’s stayed under this line in six of nine games behind the Atlanta faithful this season and will look to move his record to 12-2 on the year.
