If you’ve been riding with me, you know we’ve had some of the best NRFI bets throughout the year. Actually, we’ve taken the yes/no run first inning picks to pound town for 47.5 units. It’s been a smash fest for everyone who has been riding with us. However, we have to say goodbye to someone.
Ah, yes. Indeed. We must say goodbye AliciaWillard3473 on YouTube, who chose to only ride with us six times, and, ALLEGEDLY, lost all six times. Apparently, I need to “get a job.” It’s a sad day in our Twitter community as well, as we will no longer have #AliciaWatch updates … IYKYK.
Between the 202 single bets we’ve won and the countless parlays, it’s been a heck of a year, and as we give our keyboard warrior Alicia one final sendoff, I just wanted to say thank you all — well, ALMOST all … you other goblins know who you are — for being real ones.
As always, I drop all my picks on Twitter, which includes my NFL picks and parlays. So if you want to ride with me and sweat those bets out in real time follow me on Twitter.
Best YRFI & NRFI Bets Today: Yes & No Run First Inning Bets
Philadelphia Phillies vs. Arizona Diamondbacks First Inning Bet
We went after Diamondbacks starter Brandon Pfaadt his time lime out against the Dodgers, and he burned us. Burn me once, shame on you. Burn me twice? Well, there will be no shame on me. He ain’t burnin’ us again. This Phillies offense is hanging dong on anyone who toes the rubber, and that includes, you know, actual GOOD pitchers like Spencer Strider and Max Fried. Give me a guy who sounds like a 12th-year create-a-player in MLB2K dynasty mode, and you know I’m going after him. He’s 15-5 on NRFIs, but he’s never seen this Phillies offense before, and he could be in for a short outing tonight. — especially with the Diamondbacks down 2-0.
I’ve targeted Ranger Suarez all postseason, and if you think I’m stopping now, you’ve done bumped your head. In 8.2 playoff innings, he’s stranded every baserunner he’s allowed. I don’t care if it’s only a nine-inning sample; that’s insane for the type of pitcher he is. Suarez has faced Arizona twice this season, and the D-backs got him for a YRFI in one of them. In 74 at-bats, the Diamondbacks are hitting .270 with nine extra-base hits (7 doubles, 1 triple, 1 homer) and 11 walks. I’m not sure Suarez can keep up the voodoo magic he’s been working this postseason for much longer.

Houston Astros vs. Texas Rangers First Inning Bet
We were all over this game yesterday, weren’t we? The over (9) cashed with ease, as 13 runs were scored. Just got a little unlucky none came in the first — and there were about three balls that missed being home runs by about a combined 10 feet. Tough luck for us … and you know Alicia is still triggered about it.
It was a great sign seeing the Astros bats finally come to life last night. So can they keep laying the lumber? They face Andrew Heaney and his 22-7 NRFI record tonight. Heaney has seen the Astros quite a bit in his career and made four starts against them this season. The career numbers against the Astros are, well, let’s just say, not great. He’s allowed a .263 average, nine doubles and nine home runs in 179 career at-bats. The Astros have merked left-handed pitching all season, and they’re a better offense on the road. I have no idea WHY, but the numbers bear it out. Let’s get the run ASAP and not even have a sweat.
Should Heaney escape trouble in the first, the Rangers should be able to handle Jose Urquidy. He looked decent in his last start against Minnesota, but the Twins are the kings of strikeouts. I don’t expect that same thing against Texas tonight. In fact, Urquidy has been downright AWFUL against the Rangers in his career. The Rangers, in 74 at-bats against Urquidy, have 17 hits, which includes seven home runs and four doubles. I’m not saying he’s getting smashed tonight, but he’s getting smashed tonight.
