Washington Nationals vs. Atlanta Braves First Inning Bet
Well, it’s the final day of baseball before playoffs. Did you think we were going to go anywhere else BUT the Braves? C’mon now. You know better.
This Nationals-Braves game has an over/under sitting at 11, and that might not be high enough. The Braves are trotting out Dylan Dodd, which sounds like a create-a-player from MLB 2K when you’re 23 years into Dynasty Mode. He’s made six starts in 2023 and is somehow 5-1 on NRFIs, but I’m not a believer — mostly due to the 24 earned runs and nine home runs he’s allowed in 28.1 innings. We know the Nationals don’t hit a ton of homers, but they have so many ways to score greasy runs in the first with CJ Abrams and Lane Thomas on the bases. With a guy who owns a 1.94 WHIP, we should see some runners on, and hopefully it leads to the sweat-free YRFI.
Should the Nats not get it done for us in the top half, we have the BOIB (best offense in baseball) to rely on in the bottom half. Jackson Rutledge is starting for Washington, who somehow spun a five-inning, one-run game against the Braves on Sept. 24. Definitely not expecting THAT again. He’s not going to miss many bats, which just sounds like death against the Braves.

Minnesota Twins vs. Colorado Rockies First Inning Bet
Well, friends, since it’s the last day, we might as well root for fun all over. And it’s never a bad thing to be rooting for a yes run first inning bet in Coors Field.
Don’t be fooled by the 13-4 NRFI record for Chase Anderson; this guy is NOT good. The fella has given up 123 combined hits and walks (90 hits, 33 walks) in his 86.1 innings this season. Care to guess where the majority of those came? Of course it’s Coors. Where else would it be? The Twins have 36 career at-bats against Anderson and have smacked him around for a .333 average with five doubles to boot. I don’t care if the Twins rest guys or not; this park is a hitter’s paradise, and we’re going to get the REAL Anderson today.
There’s a bit of narrative here for Bailey Ober, as the Twins have absolutely nothing to play for. So could he be in DGAF mode? There’s a nonzero chance, that’s for sure. The Twins don’t HAVE to win and can’t move in playoff seeding whatsoever, so if he gets a little roughed up, so be it. There have already been 33 runs scored in the first two games of this series (13 in Game 1, 20 in Game 2), so the offenses have been ROLLING. This is the highest over/under on the board, and Vegas has it at 12.5, so they’re expecting quite a few runs. And so are we.
