BANG! How about a little +244 yes/no run first inning parlay win to get the week started?!? Let’s go! We cashed in on both singles bets for Phillies-Braves and Orioles-Astros as well. That’s how we like to start our Mondays.
Baseball takes center stage tonight with no NFL, so let’s get back-to-back NRFI bet parlay wins. After a sweep of our NRFI picks for this article last night, let’s go for a heat check tonight!

New York Mets vs. Miami Marlins First Inning Bet
I was hesitant to recommend this as an article pick last night with the wild card Jose Butto going for the Mets, but I should’ve known the Miami offense was worth targeting no matter what. We’re not making the same mistake twice.
Tonight we get a Joey Lucchesi-Braxton Garrett pitching matchup, and the over/under is sitting at 8. That’s a number we like to target when firing up our NRFI bets.
Garrett is 22-6 on no run first inning chances this season, has cashed the NRFI in three straight games and is 2-0 on NRFIs against the Mets this season.
There’s no meaningful sample for Lucchesi against the Marlins, but he is riding a two-game NRFI streak heading into the game tonight. He’s allowed just ONE run over 12.2 innings in his last two starts, and the Miami offense isn’t one to cause for great concern.

Chicago White Sox vs. Washington Nationals First Inning Bet
If we thought yesterday featured some great YRFI bet spots, we get another one here tonight.
Jackson Rutledge gets the nod for the Nats tonight against the White Sox. He made his MLB debut just five days ago against the Pirates and was greeted to the bigs by 10 hits and seven earned runs in 3.2 innings. Jitters or nah? That’s the question. But jitters be damned in this instance, we’re going right back after him.
As much as we like the opportunity in the top half of the first, we should like the bottom half more. The Nationals get Jose Urena and his 4-3 NRFI record tonight, and the Nats are responsible for a YRFI against him already this season (when he was with Colorado). The only thing Urena loves more than allowing first-inning runs is allowing home runs. Bro has given up 12 homers in just 28 innings this season. The Nats aren’t great at hitting the longball, but with C.J. Abrams and Lane Thomas up top, they can provide a ton of different ways to score runs.
Let’s root for some fun here!

Seattle Mariners vs. Oakland Athletics First Inning Bet
Hopefully, we’ll be sweating out the late-night hammer here with Mariners-A’s for an absolute print fest tonight.
The breakdown for this one is quite simple: This game has the lowest total on the entire slate at 7.5, and two pitchers who are a combined 35-13 on NRFIs this season. You already know where we’re going.
The Mariners have seen 59 at-bats against Paul Blackburn but haven’t faced him yet in 2023. They have scored just eight runs over their last three games, but that’s thanks to a five-run game last night — it would’ve looked much worse without that. Blackburn has been a strikeout-per-inning guy this season, and the Mariners fancy themselves a strikeout (second-most strikeouts this season). Just get us to the bottom half, that’s all we ask.
Once we get to the bottom half, I have all the trust in Luis Castillo. My guy is 22-8 on NRFIs this season and has cashed the no run first inning in three straight. Castillo already NRFI’d the A’s in his lone start against them this season and racked up eight strikeouts in that outing. I expect him to dominate again tonight against a woeful A’s offense.
