BetMGM MLB Promo: Grand Slam Jackpot for $50K in Bonuses

This promo runs throughout the weekend, so you will have a few bites at the Grand Slam Jackpot apple. Here is how it works:

Bet at least $10 on any single player to hit a home run this weekend (must be at least +100). If that player happens to hit a grand slam on Friday, Saturday or Sunday, you will be eligible to receive a share of the $50,000 bonus bet prize!

If you are the only person to bet on a hitter who hits a home run with the sacks packed, you’ll take home the whole thing yourself. Otherwise, you will split the $50,000 with your fellow winners.

There are some further terms and conditions for this promotion that you need to note:

Keep in mind that only the first home run bet you make this weekend will count towards the promo. In other words, you can’t load up on home run bets to spread your wild oats, if you will.

Additionally, a winning home run bet will only qualify for the BetMGM Grand Slam Jackpot if it is placed on the game where the grand slam was hit. If you bet a player to hit a home run on Friday and he hits a grand slam on Sunday, you will not be eligible for a share of the $50,000.

Bonus bets will be issued within 72 hours and are not withdrawable. They also expire after seven days, so get your bets in quickly if you win the Grand Slam Jackpot! 21+. Gambling Problem? Call 1-800-GAMBLER.

Best BetMGM Home Run Pick for Sunday

Now, you could simply play this by taking the guy with the best chance of hitting a home run. After all, if you want a grand slam, you’ll want to target someone who is likely to go deep at all. In that case, the winner is Jake Burger, who has a 24% chance for a homer as the Marlins take on lefty Nick Lodolo and the Reds.

Is that a terrible choice? Not necessarily. The -9.9% expected value is terrible, but the slim chance of winning a share of $50,000 does improve that slightly. However, we here at OddsShopper are about being responsibly with our bets, even when chasing a home run promotion like this BetMGM one.

As such, the better move is sticking with market value — and lucky for us, there is a +EV home run bet on the board. Washington’s rookie slugger James Wood is +575 to hit one out this afternoon, and since we have the true odds at +574, by the slimmest of margins, this bet is a positive one.

Wood only has one home run in his first 56 plate appearances, but virtually all of his power has come against right-handed pitching. He will get that today against Colin Rea in Milwaukee. Again, it’s a small sample, but he is slugging .458 against righties compared to .200 versus lefties. And yes, his one home run (and both of his extra-base hits) came against righties.

Wood has a modest 15% chance of going deep. However, that isn’t that far off from Burger at 24%, and the market value is much better. So that’s where we’re going as we chase the Grand Slam Jackpot.

Best BetMGM Home Run Pick: James Wood (+575)
