Matt Chapman M/L Than 6.5 Fantasy Points
RHP George Kirby takes on LHP Blake Snell in what should be a highly anticipated pitcher’s duel between the Giants and Mariners. One of the biggest challenges faced by Kirby will be getting around Matt Chapman.
Kirby has been fine — more than ok — this year, but an area of attack might still be his .240 xBA and .410 xSLG. That’s where we will see someone like Chapman make good contact and be in a position to clear this 6.5 fantasy point total.
Chapman is crushing the ball this year to the tune of a 93.2 EV and 48.3% hard hit rate. Beyond the hard contact is just good contact overall with the baseball, as he sits in already difficult lineup to face. With Snell on the mound for San Francisco, the Giants have a nice backstop to be aggressive early in the game.
Chapman has a little high of a K rate at 24.5% percent but more than makes up for it with his .347 xwOBA and .255 xBA. He’s got enough at the plate to cause issues no matter what inning – and what pitcher.

Corbin Carroll M/L Than 6.5 Fantasy Points
Always lean on your tools or process. In this case, when identifying the best Pick6 plays for fantasy points, we have the ability to lean on Stokastic’s industry-leading projections. Corbin Carroll is one of the highest projected position players on the entire slate. Stokastic has him projected for 12.8 fantasy points in this matchup against RHP Kutter Crawford and the Red Sox. Boston continues to struggle at home with a losing record, falling once again last night to the Diamondbacks. Crawford should have his hands full with this lineup today, specifically getting around Carroll.
We like the Red Sox to face some more issues at home against Arizona. This is a solid spot for Carroll who is not at his best making contact but has avoided issues in key areas. He isn’t striking out — just an 18.2% K rate on the year. He’s also drawing walks at a 10.3% clip. Despite not having the best contact numbers, he’s putting himself in a position to get on base or drive in runs. Crawford won’t be able to get many – if any – Ks tonight against Carroll, as the Red Sox starter has to work around his own .440 xSLG.
Call it what you want, a bounce back or get right spot, but Carroll should thrive at the plate tonight in Boston.
