While the rest of the country is currently enjoying a five-day weekend, it’s business as usual in the MLB. With everyone in action, it’s a little easier to pick and choose some value spots. We will continue to lean on OddsShopper’s DraftKings Pick6 optimizer for help in finding +EV spots in the market to attack. The day is spread across eight hours of start times, but we will focus on the late afternoon, specifically for strikeouts, for our DraftKings Pick6 MLB predictions today!
Here’s the lowdown on DraftKings Pick6: It is meant to mirror most pick’em sites, allowing you to build a two- to six-leg entry with larger payouts for more correct choices. However, the new product is peer-to-peer, meaning the strategy lies in beating other players in pre-selected tournaments rather than beating the house, making it important to be contrarian!

DraftKings Pick6 MLB Predictions Today
Lance Lynn M/L Than 4.5 Strikeouts
The Cardinals are hoping for more of the same from Lance Lynn as he looks to put together a third win over as many starts. Lynn has seen incredible success avoiding walks and mistakes at the plate, primarily by throwing a ton of first pitch strikes. He’s hit above the 4.5 total in five of his last six starts, making his first of the month tonight in Washington, DC. Lynn is even averaging 4.94 Ks per game.
He couldn’t be in a better position to fade at this point, especially with the expectations of people flocking to him in this matchup. Lynn still only has a 22% strikeout rate which means he’s working for them. This isn’t someone overpowering batters to the tune of eight-plus strikeouts per night.
Things are certainly shaky in DC for the Nationals, but they also don’t load up a bunch of strikeouts in their lineup. Most everyday players have below a 20% strikeout rate, with three just above that number. It doesn’t look good for Lynn here.
DraftKings Pick6 Prediction Today: Lance Lynn Less Than 4.5 Strikeouts
Yonny Chirinos M/L Than 4.5 Strikeouts
We’re taking a similar approach with this play, but we have to factor in the opposing pitcher. This is a forgettable matchup between the Miami Marlins and visiting White Sox, the only redeeming part being Garrett Crochet. The White Sox hurler has been fantastic, dominating opposing hitters far better than what the Marlins parade out each night.
Yonny Chirinos will be working against both the White Sox lineup and trying to keep up with their best pitcher. That remains a tough task with a team as bad as Miami behind Chirinos.
This is just the fourth start this year for Chirinos who comes off his worst of the three outings: a nine hit, three-run loss. It’s far too small of a sample size to indicate anything as far as regression, but he has too many factors working against him to pitch above. One concern is the amount of hits he’s surrendered in just three starts, two of those seeing a mininum of eight. We like him to stay less than the above total.
DraftKings Pick6 Prediction Today: Yonny Chirinos Less Than 4.5 Strikeouts
