@jazzrazdfs – Moneyline – BOS @ CWS: The White Sox are truly awful, but even they are capable of winning games here and there. Tonight is one of those nights as they are at home with Garrett Crochet on the mound.
Crochet has been a bright spot for this team. In May, he made five starts, going 4-1 with a sub-1 ERA, and he certainly gives them an opportunity to snap this losing streak.
Like most teams, the White Sox prefer to be at home, with 10 of their 15 total wins coming in their own stadium. On the other side, the Red Sox haven’t been strong against lefties and bring an average starter in Cooper Criswell to the mound.
It never feels comfortable backing a team this poor, but at -110, I actually like the spot for the White Sox and will call for them to grab an elusive win.
MLB Expert Pick Today: Chicago White Sox ML -110 at FanDuel
@is_sirois – Player Prop – Yordan Alvaraz O/U 1.5 TB: I struggled to find anyone worth betting on to hit a home run today. RHP Bryce Miller would be a good fade in a better ballpark. The same is true for RHP Joe Ryan and LHP Logan Allen. Ultimately, I feel comfortable about taking a chalk play in Yordan Alvaraz against RHP Griffin Canning.
Canning has the worst xERA (4.91) and xSLG (.467) on today’s slate. He has also coughed up 11 actual and 10.1 expected home runs on the year, including one to Yordan Alvaraz in Houston. While that ball wouldn’t have cleared the Angel Stadium fences, Alvaraz will benefit from 8 mph winds blowing straight out, per the MLB weather report.
Canning has struggled against opposite-handed batters, coughing up a slash line of .302/.367/.568 to them with 19 extra-base hits and nine home runs. Meanwhile, Alvaraz has been solid against opposite-handed pitchers, slashing .263/.351/.493 with 17 extra-base hits and nine home runs. He slashed .292/.419/.625 against them last year with 38 extra-base hits and 25 home runs.
I’m backing Alvarez to go yard (+220 at BetMGM) and record multiple bases (-110 at BetRivers). He went yard in his last matchup with Canning and should be able to take advantage of the struggling pitcher again this evening. We’re getting just enough value on both markets to warrant spreading a unit between the two.
MLB Expert Pick & Prediction Today: Yordan Alvaraz Over 1.5 Total Bases -110 at BetRivers
@nd_joyce – Player Prop – Christopher Morel O/U 1.5 H/R/RBIs: As the calendar has flipped from May to June, Christopher Morel’s bat has started to heat up. He has hit three home runs in his last seven games, and when this man gets hot, he’s a dangerous bat.
Tonight, I absolutely love the -125 we’re getting on the over 1.5 hits, runs and RBIs line in this matchup against Nick Lodolo and the Cincinnati Reds in Great American Ballpark.
Against left-handed pitching this season, Morel has a .355 OBP, .458 SLG% and .250 ISO with four homers and a 126 wRC+.
Lodolo features mostly a fastball-curveball-changeup mix, and that plays right into Morel’s strengths. He has positive run values against the fastball, and an even stronger run value against the curveball.
With the wind blowing out to the pull side for Morel in Great American Ball Park, there are a number of ways Morel can cash this over, and -125 is too much value to pass on.
MLB Expert Pick Today: Christopher Morel Over 1.5 H/R/RBIs -125 at DraftKings
