MLB Futures Odds: Can Aaron Judge Make Home Run History Again?

On the heels of Judge’s historic season, the books think he’s an underdog to reach 62 in 2023. In fact, the over/under is set at 45.5 home runs, and is slightly juiced to the under (-125). That’s a far cry off from Judge’s 2022 campaign.

Regardless of how this season goes, Judge is cashing in on his success. The Yankees re-signed their captain to the third largest contract in MLB history. The deal is worth $360 million over nine years.

Judge went into last year with the possibility of signing a long-term deal prior to the season. Instead, he decided to bet on himself and his wager paid off. The California native also met with the San Francisco Giants during the free agency period and several MLB teams courted him in free agency. In the end, he ended up remaining in New York.

Judge, who turns 31 at the end of April has only topped fifty home runs once in his career. The MLB home runs betting market is not reacting to his power surge in 2023. His over/under suggests that bettors and sportsbooks think that a regression to the mean is likely.

It remains to be seen if that’s the case. The Yankees open at home on March 30th against the Giants. Judge will look to show San Francisco what they missed out and prove that his MLB futures betting odds are off the mark.

That said, bettors who want to take advantage of these home run prop odds and who have yet to register at DraftKings can score $200 in bonus bets after placing a $5 wager! You’ll be able to bet on any sport there or find the sharpest odds by using an OddsShopper Premium trial.
