Well, I’ve already had to rewrite this because the White Sox rugged us this morning after we had the best NRFI bet of the day laid out for us in this White Sox-A’s game. This no run first inning bet with Jonathan Cannon and JP Sears was definitely going to smack.
But since I’ve already locked it in via video, Twitter and virtually every other place in the ether already … I can’t back out now. I’ll bite the bullet and ride the rollercoaster of Ky Bush in his major league debut tonight.
Let’s start with the easy side. JP Sears is 15-7 on NRFI bets this season and gets to face an abysmal White Sox offense that ranks last in wRC+ across all of baseball.
In fact, the White Sox rank dead last in virtually every offensive category this season and have lost 20 consecutive games.
So you do the math here. Do you think there’s really issue in targeting a team like this and going against them?
I think not. We love this side of the NRFI bet today.
The great unknown is obviously Bush. I didn’t even know this person existed until about 15 minutes ago. But he was a second-round pick back in 2021, so he does come with some pedigree.
According to Baseball America, Bush does feature an above average heater, and can reach upward of 96 mph, so he does have some giddy-up on that fastball. And we know the A’s are more than capable of striking out, so let’s hope that comes into play tonight.
We’re going to be sweating in this bottom half of the first for sure. But hey … that’s what makes these no run first inning bets so much fun.
