NRFI Bets Today: Best No Run First Inning Picks for Tuesday, July 23

There is one NRFI bet today that stands out above all the others on Tuesday, July 23, and we’re going directly to it for our best no run first inning pick of the day.

It features a matchup of two pitchers that, combined, have cashed 17 consecutive NRFI bets, so we even have the #trends crowd on our side for this bet.

And this NRFI bet today is so good, I’m doubling down on it and putting my Day 4 NRFI Ladder Challenge life on the line with it.

I mentioned on Friday I’d be starting a NRFI Ladder Challenge, and it’s been nothing but cash. Here’s a look at how we’ve done on the first three days:

  • Day 1: Diamondbacks-Cubs ✅
  • Day 2: Tigers-Blue Jays ✅
  • Day 3: Padres-Guardians ✅

So we’re 3-for-3 in cashing our NRFI bets in this ladder challenge so far and looking to move up another rung with the best no run first inning bet we can find today.

If you want to follow along with all of the NRFI Ladder Challenge picks, follow me on Twitter. But for now, let’s get into today’s best NRFI bet.

NRFI Bets Today: Best No Run First Inning Picks & Predictions

Chicago White Sox vs. Texas Rangers | NRFI Bets Today

This is what we consider a system play. Errr, a two-system play?

System 1: Always bet against the Chicago White Sox.

Why? Because this White Sox team is dreadful. Yes, despite the fact that it somehow found a YRFI in last night’s game, it is still a dreadful team at scoring runs — especially against right-handed pitching.

The Sox have the league’s worst wRC+ against righties, sitting with a lowly 74, while the next-worst team is the Rockies at 82. They also carry league-worst ranks in batting average, on-base percentage and slugging percentage against righties.

So while Jon Gray might not be Nolan Ryan in his prime, this White Sox team might make him look like it tonight. Gray is 9-7 on NRFI bets this season but has come through in his last two starts and has looked much better of late after a rough start to his 2024 season.

It’s the White Sox, folks. Don’t overthink it.

System 2: In NRFI bet King Garrett Crochet we trust.

We get the 19-1 no run first inning master himself going for the visitors tonight. He’s cashed 15 consecutive NRFI bets and has just been an absolute unit on the mound this season.

The Rangers have been a middling team against left-handed pitching, and Crochet should hopefully continue his first inning dominance tonight as well.

With the White Sox likely to be limiting his innings with a trade looming, there is a chance Crochet could be more prone to empty the clip even faster than normal. So we could see him really air it out and go max effort for the short stint he might see.

Let’s trust the system plays here and move up another rung on the ladder with this NRFI bet today.

Best NRFI Bets Today: White Sox-Rangers NRFI (-125 at Caesars)

If you’re looking for another MLB bet today outside of this White Sox-Rangers NRFI, you can look to this one thanks to a little help from our OddsShopper market-based MLB betting model pick — it’s one of the few +EV bets on the board right now.

Minnesota Twins starter Simeon Woods Richardson gets the tough task of facing the Philadelphia Phillies offense tonight and has a strikeout prop of over/under 4.5.

You can get it as a positive expected value (+EV) bet on ONE book right now, and that’s FanDuel, where the odds are -122.

No other book is offering odds that are better than the true odds of -126, so FanDuel is the place you’re going to want to bet this one in order to obtain the most value.

The under on 4.5 strikeouts has an expected win rate of 56%, which shouldn’t really come as much surprise given the nature of the Phillies lineup.

So if you’re looking for a +EV bet to play tonight, you could do worse than this one.
