Seattle Mariners vs. Tampa Bay Rays | NRFI Bets Today
Again, the NRFI bet gods are shining down upon us with another 7.5 projected run total here in Tampa Bay, as the Mariners and Rays are struggling to score runs.
We went over how gaudy the Mariners’ strikeout rate is yesterday, and they didn’t let us down, as they struck out 14 times in last night’s game. Now, Rays starter Zack Littell isn’t likely to rack up nearly as many K’s as Taj Bradley did, but he’s likely to get a decent boost in swing-and-miss today based on the M’s lineup alone.
Littell enters tonight’s game with a 9-6 record on NRFIs and is coming off cashing his last no run first inning chance against a Twins offense that was looking much better. And he even got five strikeouts in that game, so we love to see that.
The Mariners are sending yet another power righty to the mound in Luis Castillo, who is 11-5 on NRFI bets this season. Like Bryan Woo last night, Castillo was roughed up by the Guardians in his last outing in Cleveland in the first inning, so he’s looking for a bounce-back NRFI chance here.
Castillo has a 25% strikeout rate with a chase rate that puts him in the top 15% of all pitchers in baseball in that category — so he’s getting guys to swing at plenty of pitches outside of the zone.
This feels like a spot where the Mariners might actually get to Littell, but it will probably be the third or fourth inning when they do, so I feel comfortable with the NRFI bet today. Let’s run the streak to 10-2, friends!
