Wow, what a way to start the World Series. Corey Seager and Adolis Garcia deflated the Diamondbacks hopes of taking Game 1 with two home runs. Can Arizona bounce back? Let’s dive into our top MLB home run picks and player prop bets for Game 2 of the World Series between the Diamondbacks-Rangers on Saturday, Oct. 28.

It doesn’t get more deflating for the Arizona Diamondbacks than last night. They were in the exact situation they wanted with their closer, Paul Sewald, on the mound. Well, he blew it. Corey Seager hit a 418-foot home run to send the game to extras to eventually have Adolis Garcia walk it off. But Arizona had been in this situation before against the Phillies just last series. They were down 0-2 and eventually 3-2 and stole the final two games. Unfortunately for Arizona, Corey Seager is on the other side.
Seager crossed home plate three separate times last night – tying a season-high. Teams have almost zero interest in pitching to him, and I would not be surprised if the D’Backs take the same approach to Seager that they did to Bryce Harper last series: walk him and have the others beat you. Texas will have 21-year-old Evan Carter hitting behind Seager, and he’s answered the call. He’s hitting .311 this postseason, including a multi-hit game last night.
I usually attack Marcus Semien in this spot since he leads off, but Seager is playing like the best player in baseball, and the Diamondbacks will take caution when pitching to him. We’ll have to rely on Carter and Garcia to answer our call and help cash this player prop that Seager has eclipsed in 10 of 13 games this postseason.

Diamondbacks-Rangers Home Run Pick
We’re in for another exciting pitching matchup for tonight. Well, to the elite MLB fans, we are. Jordan Montgomery and Merrill Kelly aren’t the most exciting names in baseball, but they have been outstanding this postseason. Kelly was phenomenal for Arizona in an elimination game last series, while Montgomery looked sharp in all three outings against the Astros last series, including a relief appearance in Game 7. So, which pitcher is more likely to give up a home run tonight? I’ll bet it’s Merrill Kelly.
If I know one thing, Evan Carter is made for the moment. We briefly discussed Carter hitting behind Seager, meaning he’ll get hittable pitches, especially if Seager is on base. With Adolis Gacia next up to bat, Kelly and the rest of the Diamondbacks pitching staff would much rather have the 21-year-old beat them than the guy who just walked it off on them.
Caesars Sportsbook headlines where you want to wager Carter to hit a home run. Their offering it at +900, while FanDuel is way behind at +680.
