Arizona has made this a series. After dropping Game 1 in drastic fashion, the Diamondbacks answered with a stunning 9-1 throttling in Game 2 to tie up the series. Let’s dive into our top MLB home run picks and player prop bets for Game 3 of the World Series between the Diamondbacks-Rangers on Monday, Oct. 30.
Top MLB Home Run Pick & Player Prop Bet for Monday, Oct. 30
Diamondbacks-Rangers Player Prop Bet
I’m switching it up for Game 3. I love both offenses tonight in a major way. Young stud Brandon Pfaadt will get the ball for the Diamondbacks, while future Hall of Famer Max Scherzer will take the mound for the Rangers — two pitchers going in opposite directions. Pfaadt has been a star this postseason with a 1.08 WHIP, while Scherzer, in two starts since a month-long IL stint, has failed to give the Rangers a quality outing. Something has to give. So where are we going for our top MLB player prop bet? We’re wagering a unit on both Corbin Carroll and Corey Seager to record a hit at -115 on DraftKings.
Let’s start with Carroll. He’s going to win NL Rookie of the Year — that we know. What we also know is that he’s flipped a switch these last few games, dating back to Game 6 in the NLCS. He looks more aggressive on the basepaths, and that’s translated to his quality at-bats. He’s recorded a hit in five straight games, including two in Game 2. Scherzer and Carroll have met before back when Scherzer was a New York Met. Carroll won the first battle. He hit a home run and later walked in their only meeting last July. He’s projected to lead off again and potentially see five at-bats. We’ll take our chances.
Seager put on a show in Game 1, and if it weren’t for him, the Rangers would be down 2-0 in this series. He hit a monster 400-plus-foot home run to tie the game in the ninth inning and before Adolis Garcia eventually walked it off. Game 2 was a different story. Seager failed to record a hit but showed life in the bottom of the ninth with a 381-foot, 102 mph lineout. That’s encouraging enough to add him to this parlay.

Diamondbacks-Rangers Home Run Pick
I could be square and back Carroll or Seager to hit a home run, but that wouldn’t be fun. On the other hand, Carroll is listed at +550 to hit a home run on Caesars — that’s what I call fun. Carroll has yet to see a ball leave the park this postseason, but with history on his side against Scherzer and a five-game hitting streak, Carroll is due.
Carroll is coming off a Game 2 performance where he hit two balls over 100 mph that led to singles. Singles are fun for our parlay above but not when it comes to home run bets. It’s still encouraging to see Carroll hitting the ball hard. All he needs is to drive one out tonight against Scherzer or against that woeful Texas Rangers bullpen. Scherzer, in particular, has allowed a home run in each start this postseason. Look for Carroll to showcase his pop from the regular season, where he hit 20 of his 25 home runs off right-handed pitchers.
