Trevor Story Player Props & Odds: Prediction for Red Sox Star’s 2023 Debut

Trevor Story makes his awaited return to the Boston Red Sox lineup after being held out for all of this season from an elbow procedure that was done in January. The former Colorado Rockies star mashed in a short stint in the minor leagues and has a great matchup tonight. Let’s dive into Story’s player props and odds for Tuesday, Aug. 8, against the Kansas City Royals.

Trevor Story returns to the Red Sox lineup just in time for Dinger Tuesday, arguably the best promotion in all of sports betting. If you’re not familiar with Dinger Tuesday, FanDuel allows bettors the chance to place a $25 wager on any hitter to hit a home run on each MLB game every Tuesday, and for each home run that any hitter hits in that game, not just your own, you’ll receive $5 in bonus bets.

Story showcased his home run power in the minor leagues. In just 13 games, he hit four home runs and four doubles and also stole a base. In his shortened 2022 season with the Red Sox where he played 94 games, Story hit 16 home runs and ranked in the 92nd percentile in max exit velocity. He has always been known for his pop dating back to his Colorado Rockies days, where he consistently hit over 20 home runs each season.

Story’s opponent tonight will be Kansas City Royals RHP Brady Singer. After an encouraging 2022 campaign, Singer has disappointed the Royals faithful. He has a 4.95 xERA and allows too much hard contact for a front-end rotation piece. Singer has shown to go deep into ballgames, though. He has pitched into the sixth inning in six of his last 10 starts, with an average of 97 pitches per outing.

Story may not particularly hit right-handed pitching better than left-handed pitching, but he has more pop against them. Last season, when he hit 16 home runs, 10 of them came off righties. The year prior as a Rockie, Story hit 15 of his 24 home runs off righties. If taking any Trevor Story player prop, it should be him to hit a home run in his season debut in front of the electric Boston crowd.

Best Trevor Story Player Prop Bet: Trevor Story Over 0.5 Home Runs +560 (FanDuel)
