Logan Webb H/L Than 6.5 Hits Allowed
Unfortunately, we cannot fade the living daylights out of Patrick Corbin on Underdog. Instead, we look to the opposite side with Logan Webb’s hits allowed market. The idea here is that Corbin is so bad he’s going to get run out fast, as evident by how poorly the team seems to play around him. Wins and losses are not pitcher stats, but when you’re 6-16 on the year with a 16.8% strikeout rate, it’s hard to blame anyone else. The good thing about Webb’s outing is his counterpart will be left out in the game a rather uncomfortable length, especially if Corbin is getting smoked.
Webb’s numbers haven’t been great, but neither have the Nationals bats. Webb has a functional strikeout rate of 20.3% while limiting walks. He’s giving up some harder-hit contact but is staying alive with a .321 xBA. This isn’t a great season for Webb, but the Nats are in for a long one with a four-game series opening tonight. They already traded away one of their best hitters, and despite winning two straight against the Brewers, Washington has still dropped six of 10.
This is a team going in the wrong direction sending an incompetent arm to the mound. Take the other side.
Underdog Fantasy Pick’em Prediction: Logan Webb Lower Than 6.5 Hits Allowed
Tyler Glasnow H/L Than 4.5 Hits Allowed
Are you buying the turnaround? Certainly one win in Seattle can’t immediately stop the skid for the Phillies. Here’s the biggest reason: They come off a must-win game in Seattle to hit the road for Los Angeles. They take on a Dodgers team that was embarrassed earlier in the year in Philadelphia.
Tyler Glasnow didn’t pitch in that series, so you can expect things to be a little tougher this time around for Philadelphia. The Phillies bats have been inconsistent at best during this slump, far different from what they looked like at home against Los Angeles.
Glasnow will look to outduel Aaron Nola tonight. It’s been five full starts since Glasnow gave up more than four hits in a home start, and his numbers are even more impressive than Nola’s. With a 32.8% strikeout rate, Glasnow is making it look effortless. Even more dominant is the .196 xBA and .255 xwOBA — enough to keep the Phillies bats at bay.
