Well, guess what? It was a timeout for us on Monday; we took a few days off from the no run first inning picks and enjoyed the holiday.
Mostly because it was a trash slate on Monday, but you need to take a break every now and then. And if you were one of those looking like Tyrone Biggums, you have a #GamblingProblem.

This is a matchup of two absolute flame-throwers with Jared Jones vs. Tarik Skubal tonight in Detroit. And the seven-run total reflects how good of a matchup this one is going to be.
Skubal, the Tigers ace and American League Cy Young Award favorite, is 7-3 on NRFIs this season and has cashed three straight.
Without a doubt, he’s been the best pitcher in the AL this season, dominating virtually every statistical category — 6-1 record, 2.25 ERA, 0.85 WHIP and 72 strikeouts in 60 innings.
What’s more impressive is that he ranks 87th percentile or higher in basically every meaningful Statcast data category on Baseball Savant, including 90th-percentile rankings in both strikeout percentage and walk percentage.
Skubal has been lights out, and there’s no way I’m not getting behind him tonight in a home matchup against the Pirates.
He’ll get us the first three outs we need in the top of the first here.
And in the bottom of the first, we have one of the best NRFI bet pitchers in all of baseball this season in Jared Jones. So we’re feeling REALLY GOOD with this.
Jones is 9-1 on his no run first inning bet opportunities this season and has been just about as dominant as Skubal in doing so.
He’s racked up 68 strikeouts in 59 innings and walked only 10 guys along the way. So he’s not putting guys on freely, and he’s getting a TON of outs without allowing contact.
What more could we ask for from a couple of pitchers when firing up a NRFI bet today?

Miami Marlins vs. San Diego Padres | YRFI & NRFI Bets Today
As I mentioned, our NRFI King has returned. And we all shall hail him.
Jesus Luzardo takes the mound on the road tonight against the Padres, and we know he’s PERFECT on NRFI bets this season.
But we have to get through the top of the first inning with Matt Waldron against the Marlins. And we’re taking a little bit of a risky shot here, as Waldron is a knuckleballer.
It’s difficult to really know what to trust with a knuckleballer. But what I do trust are the numbers, and the numbers tell me the Marlins are a bottom-10 first-inning offense.
What do we do with bottom-10 first inning offenses? We target them. And it also doesn’t hurt that Waldron’s expected ERA is a full run lower than his actual ERA, according to Baseball Savant. So he’s been unlucky to this point.
Waldron gets to pitch at home tonight in the comfort of Petco Park, which has the third-worst park factor in baseball over the last three years, so it could help mitigate runs for him tonight as well. Let’s just hope the knuckleball is jumping and fooling these Marlins hitters early.
There isn’t much analysis to give for Luzardo. He’s our King. Our GOAT. Our undefeated NRFI champion of the world.
And we’re rocking with him for a NRFI bet whenever there’s a chance. We’re not backing down from this one tonight.
It might get sweaty in the top of the first with Waldron, so hold your nose, close your eyes … we’re going to need to do whatever we have to do.
