Sportsbooks Drop the Early Jon Jones-Stipe Miocic Betting Odds

Per DraftKings Sportsbook, Jon Jones (-375) will be a heavy favorite in the bout against Stipe Miocic (+270). Miocic, 40, is widely considered one of the best heavyweight fighters of all-time. He had a front row seat for Jones’ triumph of Gane on Saturday night, but still expressed his confidence that he’ll be able to take care of Jones.

“Nothing’s gonna change,” Miocic told ESPN reporter Megan Olivi of how he’ll prepare for Jones, per MMA Junkie. ” I’m gonna train my ass off and beat that ass.”

Miocic opted to keep it simple when talking about the upcoming fight, which he believes will take place in July. He held the heavyweight championship on two separate occasions, but lost his belt with a knockout loss to Francis Ngannou in May of 2020. He has not booked a fight since that loss.

“Good for him. Hey, he won. I’ll see him in July,” Miocic said of Jones. “… “They’re all big boys at heavyweight. Not that much to say. It is what it is.”

The earliest that the Jones-Miocic fight would take place would likely be UFC 290, although UFC president Dana White said “I don’t know when” when asked about a date Saturday night.

Jones furthered  his legacy by moving up a weight class and earning the belt, but he admitted that beating someone with the track record of Miocic will further his GOAT status.

“None of my past champions that I’ve beat were considered GOATs,” Jones said. “This is GOAT vs. GOAT.”

Based on the latest Jon Jones-Stipe Miocic betting odds, Jones is expected to pick apart Miocic whenever that match occurs.
