Adesanya is one of the most storied names in UFC history, as he is 24-2 with 16 wins via knockout. One of those knockouts came in his last bout against Alex Pereira, where he knocked out Pereira in Round 2 of the main event of UFC 287 to regain the Middleweight division title. He lost to Pereira in the first of their two matches in November of 2021 at UFC 281, that time by fifth-round knockout. The only other loss of Adesanya’s career came at the hands of Jan Blachowicz in 2021.

Adesanya’s incredible track record has the early UFC odds heavily in his favor. You can bet Adesanya to defeat Strickland at UFC 293 at the heavy price of -600 at DraftKings. Strickland is +440 to win the bout.

Despite those long odds, Strickland brings a formidable track record to the match in Sydney. Strickland is 27-5 in his career, with 11 wins coming via knockout and four via submission. He has been knocked out twice in his career, but he has never been submitted. He is on a two-fight winning streak, defeating Abus Magomedov by second-round knockout in his last fight and notching a decision victory over Nassourdine Imavov in the fight prior to that. Strickland lost to Jared Cannonier and Alex Pereira prior to those wins. The latter defeat at the hands of Pereira came at UFC 276, the last time Strickland participated in a pay-per-view card.

In addition to the Adesanya-Strickland odds for the UFC 293 main event, early lines are out for the other 11 fights on the card. Only three fights feature fighters with odds near 50%. Tyson Pedro and Anton Turkalj is currently a pick-’em, while Shane Young (-162) is favored over Gabriel Miranda (+136) and Kevin Jousset (-135) is favored over Kiefer Crosbie (+114). There are no other fights where the favorite has an implied win probability of less than 60% given the current UFC odds.

Fight prop odds have yet to be released. The long odds on many of these matches could indicate that the UFC odds for props will feature finishes inside the distance and submission finishes.

The Adesanya-Strickland odds and other fight odds are certain to move a bit from these early prices, and OddsShopper will be here to cover that and all UFC odds shifts. You can find expert analysis on every matchup throughout the week, and best UFC bets using OddsShopper’s market-based model.
