Best NASCAR Xfinity Series Bets for the 2023 Ag-Pro 300 at Talladega

After a solid race at Martinsville Speedway that saw John Hunter Nemechek score another win, the Xfinity Series will head further south this weekend with a trip to Talladega Superspeedway on tap. The Ag-Pro 300 will get underway on Saturday, April 22 at 4 p.m. ET. Parker Kligerman stands out as a sharp NASCAR Xfinity Series bet for Talladega.

Can Parker Kligerman Get Another Superspeedway Win?

Races at Talladega can get crazy. While they can create crazy payouts, they can also create crazy losses. As a result, I’m limiting my action to one driver for Saturday’s festivities. Parker Kligerman looked good in the two earlier superspeedway events this year, and he benefits from getting to work directly with Austin Hill, who pilots another Richard Childress Racing-aligned Chevrolet. Kligerman finished fourth at Atlanta after drafting with Hill most of the day.

Kligerman has won at Talladega before — just not in the Xfinity Series. In the Truck Series, he piloted the No. 7 Toyota to a win for Red Horse Racing in 2012. He then won again in the No. 75 Toyota for Henderson Motorsports. Kligerman has three top-5s and four top-10s to his name at Talladega through seven Truck Series starts. He also has two sixth-place finishes at Talladega to his name in three Xfinity Series starts.

Only three drivers have won stages in superspeedway events this year. The most dominant superspeedway driver, Austin Hill, has won four of the six. Kligerman and Justin Allgaier are the only other two drivers to have finished a stage in first. Hill owns odds of 4-1 to win this weekend, and Allgaier owns odds of 14-1 to win. Yet Kligerman sits all the way down at 20-1 at DraftKings Sportsbook. His top-5 odds sit at only 7-2 on Caesars Sportsbook as well.

Although it’s still early in the season, it’s not too early to start considering what drivers are thinking about for the playoffs. Kligerman, the first full-time driver of the No. 48 Chevrolet for Big Machine Racing, sits right on the playoff cutoff in 12th. Brandon Jones, who drives the No. 9 Chevrolet for JR Motorsports, is only nine points behind him. Kligerman may need to win to secure a spot in this year’s playoffs, and after failing to do so at Daytona and Atlanta, expect him to get a bit more aggressive at Talladega.
