Houston’s perimeter defense is terrible compared to the rest of the league. The Rockets have given up 1.3 more above-the-break 3’s than the next-worst team, the Memphis Grizzlies (9.9). There is a wider gap between Houston and Memphis than between Memphis and the 11th-best Utah Jazz (8.8). Recent lowlights include surrendering eight triples to Huerter’s teammate, Keegan Murray, and giving up five to Oklahoma City’s Isaiah Joe.

Huerter underperformed on Monday and is stuck in a bit of a cold spell. He hasn’t made three or more triples in six games, a streak that coincides with Sacramento’s ongoing road trip. However, this is currently Huerter’s longest streak of games without at least three triples dating back to early last season. Huerter has made an impressive 39.7% of his 3’s — and 40.7% of them from above the break — this year. Look for him to get things turned around on Wednesday.
