As a result, New York’s defense has routinely given up points to centers who can do more than dunk or make layups.

Nicolas Claxton (13) and Precious Achiuwa (12) also put together solid showings. The Knicks have especially struggled against mid-range shooters — they have allowed the fifth-most mid-range shots per game (4.9). The Knicks have also allowed the eighth-most 3-pointers from above the break (9.4).

Wendell Carter Jr. profiles as the type of center who can toast the Robinson-less Knicks. He can effectively shoot from both mid-range and the top of the key. More importantly, this number sits below his season average (15.1) and his average in games that Mo Bamba doesn’t play (15.9). Carter scored 17 points against the Knicks earlier in the season with Robinson active and should put together another respectable performance on Tuesday night.
