Best NBA 76ers-Celtics Same Game Parlay for Game 5 (Great Day for Overs)

The Boston Celtics nearly clawed all the way back to win Game 4, but James Harden said no way. With the series evened up, the Celtics can still close things out just by winning their home games. Bettors seeking a viable same-game parlay (SGP) for Tuesday’s 76ers-Celtics Game 5 should target these lines at FanDuel — we’re honing in on some overs after the Game 4 overtime thriller. Make sure to check out OddsShopper’s tools and player prop articles for other sharp plays, including our Parlay Builder!

Best 76ers-Celtics NBA Same-Game Parlay for Game 5 | May 9

The Philadelphia 76ers and Boston Celtics just played a playoff overtime game. Most of their superstars played 40-plus minutes. That means they’ll be poorly rested for Game 5, and to me, that suggests we won’t see either squad play much defense on Tuesday night, especially early. The Celtics went 8-4-1 to the over when playing without rest in the regular season. They’ll obviously have a night off, but the trip back to Boston will limit some of that effect.

Over 214.5

If we don’t expect much defense, that means it’s time to exploit the full-game total. These teams have averaged 222.3 points per game this series despite playing at a relatively slow pace. We saw these teams play at a series-fastest pace in the first half of Game 4 after both head coaches emphasized playing faster in their post-game pressers, so expect more of that in Game 5.

Jayson Tatum Over 29.5 Points

We’re playing the full-game over, so we’re also going to play some correlated player props. Jayson Tatum hasn’t had the best series, but he looked like an absolute stud in the second half of Game 2. He scored 22 points in the second half and overtime alone, and he should carry that momentum forward into Game 5 against a gassed 76ers defense. It helps that Tatum averaged 31.7 points per game when playing at home in the regular season.

Derrick White Over 9.5 Points

Three members of Boston’s rotation played 40-plus minutes in Game 4. Malcolm Brogdon and 36-year-old Al Horford both eclipsed the 36-minute mark. But Derrick White played only 31 minutes, so he enters Game 5 with some of the freshest legs in this rotation. White averaged 12.5 points per game at home in the regular season and 14.2 per game when the Celtics were playing without rest. He has also scored at least 10 in six of his eight starts against the 76ers this year when including the playoffs.

Boston Celtics Moneyline

The Celtics are a substantial 6.5-point favorite for Game 5. They certainly looked like the better team for most of the series, but I’m not willing to buy them as three-possession favorites quite yet. Still, we can expect them to win Game 5 at home. Boston is 35-11 in the TD Garden this year, the fourth-best home record in the NBA. Boston is also an NBA-best 19-9 after a loss.
