Best 76ers-Celtics NBA Same-Game Parlay for Game 7 | May 14

The Boston Celtics are 6.5-point favorites. We’re going to agree with the books that the Celtics should win this do-or-die Game 7 and anchor our 76ers-Celtics parlay around that assumption. We’ll also factor in the new lineups that Boston whipped out in Game 6, which featured Robert Williams III, when picking these lines. In short: we’re fading Joel Embiid and backing P.J. Tucker, who Boston’s defense should continue to leave uncovered.

Joel Embiid Under 29.5 Points

The Philadelphia 76ers may not get much out of their superstar center in Game 7. Embiid faced primary coverage from Al Horford in Game 6, who had help from Robert Williams III, and scored only 26 points. That marked the second time Embiid failed to score at least 30 points this series. Embiid averaged 32.3 points per game on the road in the regular season, 1.4 less than what he averaged at home. Boston’s improved defensive approach should contain Embiid again on Sunday.

P.J. Tucker Over 0.5 3-Pointers

Boston’s more aggressive coverage of Embiid left P.J. Tucker open in the corner with some frequency. Tucker took eight shots in Game 6, seven of which came from beyond the arc, and seven of which went uncontested. Although he only converted two of his seven 3-point attempts, he only needs to hit one to cash this over. Tucker has hit at least one 3-pointer in each game of this series except for Game 1. Let’s trust him not to blow our 76ers-Celtics parlay.

Robert Williams III Over 7.5 Points

After coming off the bench in Games 1 through 5, Williams started Game 6 and played a series-high 28 minutes. Williams had only played 20-plus minutes once earlier in the series, so the increased usage explains his much-improved points average — he had been scoring only four points per game this series before Game 6. Still, Boston’s new lineup worked in Game 6, so expect more of the same in Game 7 — including plenty of alley-oops to the Time Lord.

Boston Celtics Moneyline

We’ll wrap this play up with a line I’m sure you saw coming: the Boston Celtics moneyline. Boston is a 6.5-point favorite for Game 7, so the books expect Jayson Tatum and company to take care of business by multiple possessions. I think that’s a fair conclusion — Boston’s best shooters have frequently had off nights this series, and the team has found ways to win regardless. All the pieces may not come together for this one, but if they do, a double-digit win is in the cards.
