Minnesota Timberwolves vs. Washington Wizards

Let’s start with my hometown Timberwolves taking on the Washington Wizards. Minnesota is coming off a frustrating loss to Memphis — a game it should have won — and while that stings as a fan, I’m optimistic about its chances tonight.

Washington is on a back-to-back and frankly isn’t trying to win basketball games right now. With Kyle Kuzma, Jordan Poole and the rest of the crew in tow, Washington has some talent but lacks consistency. Meanwhile, Minnesota has shown improvement with its revamped starting lineup.

I’m leaning toward Minnesota here, especially if the line drops below 13. The rest advantage combined with Washington’s struggles makes this an enticing spot for the Timberwolves. Keep an eye on that spread, though — I’d jump on it if it moves to 12.5.

NBA Best Bet: Timberwolves -13.5 (LEAN/LIKE)

Detroit Pistons vs. New York Knicks

Detroit getting 7 points at home against the Knicks feels like a strong bet. Cade Cunningham is playing out of his mind, putting up eye-popping numbers while elevating this Pistons squad. With Jaden Ivey out, Cunningham’s assist rates have been soaring, and he’s proving he can shoulder a heavy workload.

The Knicks, meanwhile, are coming off a blowout loss to Milwaukee and could be vulnerable on the second leg of a back-to-back. Detroit’s new starting lineup is finding its rhythm, and I love the direction this team is headed.

Detroit +7 is a clear bet. The Knicks have shown they can lose to inferior opponents, and I like the Pistons’ chances to keep this one competitive.

NBA Best Bet: Pistons +8 (LIKE)

Golden State Warriors vs. Toronto Raptors

Golden State welcomes Toronto in what should be an interesting matchup. On paper, this game sets up well for the Warriors with Stephen Curry back and Andrew Wiggins rejoining the team after personal time off. However, Draymond Green is questionable, and his absence would have ripple effects on both sides of the ball.

The total here (228) caught my attention, but my models suggest the under could be the better play if Green is in. If he’s ruled out, I might revisit this number, as Golden State’s offense tends to get a boost when he’s not on the floor. For now, this game is a lean and a cautious look at the total, pending lineup updates.

NBA Best Bet: Under 228 (LEAN)
