Best NBA Player Prop Bets Today for Dec. 1

Yesterday’s 2-1 showing brings this column to 22-5 over the last two weeks, and our worst showing during that span is a still-profitable 2-1. I hope to keep our streak alive with tonight’s NBA player prop picks. I’ve got action down on Brandon Ingram, OG Anunoby and Kyle Kuzma in this spot. OG Anunoby Player Prop

The Toronto Raptors are playing their fourth game in three days against the New York Knicks tonight. The Knicks are on the wrong end of a back-to-back set and were forced to scrap with a bad Detroit Pistons team last night. New York won by six with Jalen Brunson and Julius Randle both playing 38-plus minutes. That could have consequences for New York’s defense in this spot — the last time they played on a back-to-back, the Charlotte Hornets hit 17 3-pointers.

We’re targeting OG Anunoby because New York’s defense could be worse here, which is all the worse since Anunoby is lethal from the corner. New York is coughing up 4.3 corner 3-pointers per game, fifth-most in the association, on a conversion rate of 41.7%, which ranks seventh-most. Anunoby leads the NBA in corner 3-pointers made (1.5) and taken (3) per game and owns a conversion rate of 51.1%.

Although I’m a bit concerned about Anunoby’s recent heavy workload — he played 33-plus minutes in both of Toronto’s games in the back-to-back — I’m not concerned enough to not trust him in this matchup. Anunoby is averaging 16 points per game against the Knicks since the start of the 2021-22 season, recording over 12.5 points in five of eight starts (62.5%). His odds of reaching the 13-point threshold is -130 (56.5%) at ESPNBet, lower than his recent hit rate against the Knicks. We’ve seen Anunoby explode for 20-plus points against the Knicks twice in that sample, so laddering him could also prove sharp.

NBA Player Prop Pick: OG Anunoby Over 12.5 Points -130 at ESPNBet

Brandon Ingram Player Prop

The New Orleans Pelicans will visit the San Antonio Spurs tonight before visiting the Chicago Bulls on Saturday. The Pels are a 13-point road favorite, so with a blowout game script on tap, getting action on some unders for New Orleans’ starting five should prove sharp.

New Orleans’ scheduling aside, our NBA betting tools want action on this Brandon Ingram under today because of the pricing disparity. The -156 (60.9%) on FanDuel is worse than the true odds for this wager of -165 (62.3%). OddsShopper calculates true odds by indexing odds available at all books and adjusting for book sharpness and hold.

Kyle Kuzma Player Prop

If you read this column on Wednesday, you know we got action on Kyle Kuzma to record over 2.5 turnovers against the Orlando Magic at odds of -110. The books have raised the price to -155 (at bet365) or -160 for the rematch. Kuzma tallied four turnovers in the last matchup and has a higher than 60.8% chance of doing so again.

The Wizards were on the wrong end of a back-to-back set in the previous game, and Kuzma still played 35 minutes. Although it’s the third game in four games for him, the Wizards won’t play again until next Wednesday, so it wouldn’t surprise me to see their stars in action for a significant portion of Friday’s game.

To rehash the reasoning for this pick from Wednesday’s: Kuzma struggles with turnovers against Orlando’s plucky defense and plays a high-volume role that often exposes him to risk. Kuzma is averaging four turnovers per game against the Magic since joining the Wizards over a six-game sample, staying under just once.

Kuzma’s struggles are likely because the Wizards ask so much of him — he ranks second on the Wiz in passes made (35.4) and second in touches (59.7). It makes sense, then, that Orlando’s defense, which ranks second in turnovers forced per game (16.8) and second in turnovers forced per game from small forwards (2.9), would force him to cough up the ball a bunch.

NBA Player Prop Pick: Kyle Kuzma Over 2.5 Turnovers -155 at bet365
