NBA Player Props Today: Picks for Stephen Curry & More

Stephen Curry Player Prop

The Golden State Warriors will host the Indiana Pacers on Friday night in what should be one of the most, if not the most exciting games on the slate. With a total of 239.5, sportsbooks are anticipating an up-tempo matchup, and nobody seems to thrive more in a fast-paced game than the undisputed King of Threes, Stephen Curry. Besides, he loves this time of year. Remember how he propelled Davidson to an incredible run through the NCAA Tournament back in the day? He’ll look to create his own March Madness on the NBA hardwood tonight.

Curry has struggled a bit from deep recently and has not hit this total since March 6, but the Pacers own the fastest pace of play in the NBA and rank 25th in defensive rating, creating an environment where Curry could thrive from beyond the arc. In the two teams’ only other meeting this season, Curry went 11-for-16 from beyond the to finish with 42 points. We don’t need him to have a repeat performance of that monumental game, we just need him to hit half that many threes tonight.

Curry is at his best in pace-up situations this season. When the Warriors have faced the four fastest-paced teams in the NBA this season (Washington Wizards, Indiana Pacers, San Antonio Spurs and Atlanta Hawks) Curry has hit at least five three-point field goals in five out of six contests. He like him to live up to his Splash Brother namesake tonight against the Pacers.

NBA Player Prop Pick: Stephen Curry Over 4.5 3-Pointers -125 at BetRivers

Victor Wembanyama Player Prop

The San Antonio Spurs are headed into Friday’s matchup with the Memphis Grizzlies having won just one game out of their last five. Star rookie Victor Wembanyama has been one of the Spurs’ lone bright spots this season, averaging 20.7 points per game.

As much success as he has seen so far, we’re going to go against the grain this evening and lock in his under 1.5 three-point field goals made. The OddsShopper NBA betting tools have this Wembanyama under as one of its top bets of the night.

Our NBA betting tools are showing the true odds for Wembanyama’s made threes under at +135. Bettors can gain the biggest edge on the books if they place this bet at Bet365, BetRivers or SugarHouse, where it’s listed at +155.

Meanwhile, Pinnacle, a sharp book, lists the under 1.5 made three-pointers at +119, a massive discrepancy. OddsShopper calculates true odds by indexing odds available at all books and adjusting for book sharpness and hold.

Zion Williamson Player Prop

Zion Williamson and the New Orleans Pelicans fly east to Miami to take on the Heat this Friday night. The Pelicans will be without miss Brandon Ingram as he recovers from a knee injury and will likely rely on their top scorer, Williamson, to propel the offense.

Under Eric Spoelstra, the Miami Heat defense has made a habit of working hard to force primary scorers to get rid of the ball, forcing supporting cast players to create and convert opportunities.

On Friday night, we expect the Heat to continue that trend and make life difficult for Zion Williamson on the offensive end. Notice on Williamson’s shot chart that nearly all of his made field goals this season have come from inside the painted area. On Friday night, he’ll have to deal with one of the NBA’s premier paint defenders, Bam Adebayo.

Williamson has averaged 22.7 points per game this season. He scored just 23 points in his only other meeting with the Heat this season. Of course his numbers and usage increase when Ingram is not on the floor, but expect the Heat to shift their defensive focus to the power forward and clog the lane tonight. I’m on Williamson’s scoring total under 25.5 points.
