Best NBA Player Props Today: Picks for Jrue Holiday & More
Alperen Sengün Player Prop
The Houston Rockets will host the Charlotte Hornets tonight, and that’s great news for center Alperen Sengün. The Hornets have absolutely no rim protection. Most of the shots they’re allowing have come in the paint — they have coughed up the second-most points in the paint per game (58.7) and the most points per game to centers (26.9). They also haven’t fared well on the glass. They rank 21st in team rebound rate (48%) and fifth in rebounds allowed to centers per game (17.2).
Sengün is off to a solid start this year, and his increased production seems sustainable. He is averaging 19.3 points and nine rebounds per game, up from the 14.8 and nine he averaged last year. His minutes are up from 28.9 to 34, and his usage rate is up from 21.1% to 24.4%, likely a function of the Rockets replacing the inefficient and ball-dominant Kevin Porter Jr. with veteran Fred VanVleet.
The total for Sengün’s points and rebounds sits at a reasonable 26.5, but books vary on their pricing for this one. Some have the over set to -120, but others, like BetMGM, have it set to only -110. Sengün went off against the Hornets last year for 24 points and 12 rebounds in January (36) and for 14 points and 21 rebounds in April (35). Jrue Holiday Player Prop
The Boston Celtics got aggressive late in the offseason by bringing in Jrue Holiday after the Damian Lillard trade. Although Holiday gives them plenty of experience at point guard, the former Bucks star doesn’t need to play the same role that he did in Milwaukee, especially as a passer. He is averaging only four assists and 5.3 potential assists per game this season.
Our NBA betting tools want action on this Jrue Holiday under today. You’ll find his assist total set to 6.5 — far less than what he is averaging now — with the under priced at -135 (57.5%) on BetMGM, which is worse than the true odds of -154 (60.6%). OddsShopper calculates true odds by indexing odds available at all books and adjusting for book sharpness and hold.

Dennis Schröder Player Prop
The Toronto Raptors are a weird basketball team. They have been playing a brand of mostly positionless basketball with several wings, like Pascal Siakam, Scottie Barnes, OG Anunoby and Gary Trent Jr. able to contribute in multiple categories. One of their more traditional players, point guard Dennis Schröder has been a valuable contributor from beyond the arc. He is tied for second in attempts from above the break (4.8) but leads the team in makes (2.3) for an elite 47.4% conversion rate. Add in his shots from the corner and Schröder is averaging 2.8 3-pointers per game on 50% shooting.
While Schröder probably can’t keep cooking like this, he has a relatively easy opponent on tap this evening. He’ll face the Milwaukee Bucks, who are struggling to stop anything from beyond the arc. The Bucks are allowing their opponents to make a league-high 41.5% of their 3-pointers and an atrocious 43.5% of their attempts from above the break. That bodes well for everyone in Toronto’s offense, but with Schröder at point guard, I’m trusting him.
Several point guards have already put together solid numbers from deep against the Bucks this year. Tyrese Maxey shot 3-for-8 (37.5%) on Opening Night. Trae Young shot 3-for-8 (37.5%) on Sunday. Kyle Lowry and Tyler Herro combined to go 4-for-10 (40%) on Monday. The Bucks need to figure out their perimeter defense, and they won’t have enough time to adjust before having to stop a red-hot Schröder tonight. We know that Damian Lillard can be a traffic cone on defense, and with him likely drawing Schröder, I expect big things from the journeyman point guard.
