Best NBA Player Props for Nets-76ers Game 1 (April 15)

The Philadelphia 76ers and Brooklyn Nets will line up against each other in the opening round of the Eastern Conference playoffs. The 76ers will host the series, which means they’ll get home-court advantage in Games 1 and 2.  Saturday’s matchup offers NBA player prop bettors plenty of value — FanDuel has left too much value on the Spencer Dinwiddie and Nicolas Claxton player prop markets for Game 1. Nets-76ers Game 1 NBA Player Prop | Spencer Dinwiddie

Spencer Dinwiddie O/U 17.5 Points

Both the Philadelphia 76ers and Brooklyn Nets play basketball at a below-average pace. After the All-Star Break, the 76ers ranked a sluggish 29th in pace. The Nets weren’t far behind in 19th. These teams are unlikely to pivot from that philosophy in the playoffs, and that should limit the scoring chances for guys like Brooklyn’s Spencer Dinwiddie.

Dinwiddie is already in a tough spot. The 76ers rank an impressive fifth in points allowed per game to point guards over the last 30 games (22.6), in no small part because of their slow pace. Dinwiddie scored only nine points against the 76ers in his lone start against them for the Nets. He shot an atrocious 2-for-10 from the floor and 0-for-4 from beyond the arc

Although Dinwiddie should play a healthy share of minutes on Saturday, if the Nets fall behind early by a wide margin, head coach Jacque Vaughn could pull the plug in hopes of getting ready for Game 2, which will take place on Monday. Speaking of rest, Dinwiddie is averaging only 14 points per game when coming off three or more days off. Let’s buy the under at -106 via FanDuel Sportsbook.

Nets-76ers Game 1 NBA Player Prop | Nicolas Claxton

Nicolas Claxton O/U 12.5 Points

Let’s fade another member of the Brooklyn Nets’ rotation. Center Nicolas Claxton has a tough matchup against Joel Embiid on tap and could get into foul trouble early. Claxton has lined up against Embiid seven times and is averaging only 10.4 points per game. He has beaten this number just twice, once in 2021 and again in 2023. Claxton has racked up at least four fouls in all but one of his matchups with Embiid.

Claxton avoided foul trouble in last year’s playoff series against the Boston Celtics but was notoriously inefficient. He averaged 10.5 points per game while shooting 79.2% from the floor but only 18.2% from the charity stripe. Claxton averaged a respectable 12.2 points per game after the All-Star Break on 66.5% from the floor and 63.2% from the line. Still, he racked up only six points in his last meeting with Embiid and the 76ers.

While Claxton, like Dinwiddie, should benefit from increased minutes in the playoffs, either a blowout or foul trouble could cost him playing time. Philadelphia’s slow pace won’t help, either, nor will their stingy defense — the 76ers have given up the second-fewest points per game to centers over the last 30 contests (19.7) and the seventh-fewest points in the paint (48.1). Let’s buy the under at -113 via FanDuel. Pinnacle, a sharp book, has it priced at -138. Readers yet to register at FanDuel can get $150 in bonus bets with a $5 wager!
