This is a series packed to the gills with stars upcoming and established alike, not to mention a flurry of high-end role players. So obviously we’re turning to some guys coming off varying portions of the bench for our Pacers-Celtics parlay, and we’re also sticking with the value by taking unders here. The Parlay Builder found us some value, so let’s dissect it.

Leg #1: Luke Kornet Under 8.5 Points + Rebounds + Assists

When I was talking about the “varying portions of the bench,” in my head Kornet belonged to the “end” portion of said bench. I stand by that because, despite this being a post-Kristaps Porzingis Celtics world, Kornet’s minutes are not exactly reaching Donte DiVincenzo levels.

Kornet’s game log does not have zeros or DNPs on it like a true end-of-the-bench guy would be showing. His median game has him at about 15 minutes, which is also about what he averaged this season.

In the playoffs, however, he has dropped to 12.5 per game — which makes sense given the tighter postseason rotations — and even sans Porzingis he has played as little as seven minutes and change. Now, Kornet is averaging about 15 a game in Porzingis’ absence, but that is leading to about 10 points + rebounds + assists per game.

Yes, that would be an over tonight, and Kornet has gone over 8.5 PRA in four of six games since Porzingis went down. But most of those came against a Cleveland team down Jarrett Allen, whereas the Pacers have their full frontcourt.

The biggest asset in this under, however, is the odds bet365 is throwing out. OddsShopper has the True Odds at -112 on the under — 53% expected win rate. Yet for some reason, bet365 has it at +100. That is leading to a 6.0% edge on this play individually, and the 53% win rate is good enough for it to anchor an SGP.

Leg #2: Payton Pritchard Under 2.5 Assists

Pritchard is firmly at the other end of the Celtics bench since he regularly gets 22-plus minutes. He has also been pretty sound as a playmaker, with at least three assists in six of 10 postseason games.

That said, Indiana’s guard rotation has been strong in the playoffs, and the Celtics will lean heavily on Jrue Holiday to slow down Tyrese Haliburton. Will that lead to a massive minutes reduction for Pritchard? It’s possible, and even if it doesn’t T.J. McConnell has been an absolute menace coming off the bench for the Pacers and is also a candidate to give Pritchard some trouble as a ball handler.

All that said, OddsShopper is going with this as a 50-50 prop, but the +105 odds are what make this a +EV play and worthwhile add to our SGP. On its own, taking Pritchard under 2.5 assists gets us a 2.7% positive edge. As part of the parlay, it gets us over +300 for total odds, while the total expected win rate is still workable at 26%. Ideally we would get closer to 30%, but we can live in the mid- to high-20s.
