NBA Player Predictions | Dec. 29

De’Aaron Fox M/L 48.5 Fantasy Score

De’Aaron Fox is the best play of the day as he gets the best matchup for guards in the NBA. The Hawks rank in the bottom 4 in opponent points, assists, field goal percentage, 3-pointers and free throws allowed to guards. They also allow 5.3 steals to the position, which plays well for PrizePicks scoring. Overall, the Hawks rank 27th in defensive rating and fifth in pace.

Fox is averaging 48.1 fantasy points per game over his last 20 games. This game has a 1-point spread and is a pace-up spot against a bad defense, and the game has a massive total of 252. This has shootout potential all over it, and more than 48.5 fantasy points is the play.

Jamal Murray M/L 39.5 Fantasy Score

Jamal Murray gets a similar matchup as Fox tonight. The Thunder allow the most points in the NBA to guards and rank in the bottom 3 in pretty much every category against the position. Denver is playing on the second night of a back-to-back, but Murray got to rest the final 14 minutes of the game as the Nuggets blew out the Grizzlies 142-105.

Murray is averaging 39.5 fantasy points over his last 12 games, but he played less than 28 minutes in five of those games due to blowouts. Tonight’s game against Oklahoma City has just a 2-point spread and a 236.5 total. For an added bonus, Aaron Gordon is out tonight, freeing up a bit more usage and counting stats. Murray tallied 1.76 fantasy points per minute without Gordon in last night’s game. This matchup is too good to pass on Murray tonight.

Jalen Williams M/L 29.5 Fantasy Score

For the final pick on today’s card, I’m leaning on Jalen Williams. We just talked about the good game environment with a close spread and high total, but another thing that’s appealing for Williams is that Aaron Gordon is out tonight for Denver, and he is a great defender and rebounder. Williams is coming into this game hot after recording a career-high 36 points in Wednesday’s victory over the Knicks.

He’s averaging 31.0 fantasy points per game in his last 20 and recorded 30.7 in the matchup with Denver just two weeks ago. If we take a look at OddsShopper’s Positive EV Bets tool, we see that Williams’ points + rebounds + assists projection is 24.5 on PrizePicks.

Some other operators are juiced to over between -120 and -122, while four other books have this prop at 25.5. He’s also averaging 1.7 blocks + steals in his career, which plays well on PrizePicks. Considering the game environment and the value, more than 29.5 is the play.
