When the Portland Trail Blazers acquired Matisse Thybulle from the Philadelphia 76ers at the trade deadline they weren’t expecting him to be a huge offensive contributor. Thybulle has had a solid career in Philadelphia, making a name for himself on the defensive end. However, Portland’s short-term plans are in flux with Anfernee Simons nursing a knee injury, Jerami Grant in the concussion protocol and Damian Lillard taking more days off to rest. All three are out again on Thursday night when Portland takes on the Sacramento Kings. Their absence is creating a bit of value on Matisse Thybulle’s NBA prop betting markets.

NBA Prop Bets: Trail Blazers-Kings Prop Bets
Matisse Thybulle was thrust into action for the Trail Blazers quickly after he was acquired. He started his first two games with the new squad, playing 26 minutes and 30 minutes in each. Those games came with Lillard and Simons on the court, taking up more minutes and usage from the rest of Portland’s rotation. With those two out of the picture, it should force Thybulle to take more of an offensive role.
It’s hard to back Thybulle for his offense. The defensive focused wing has averaged just 2.9 points per game over the course of his five year career. All of that time was spent with Philadelphia, who has a much deeper roster than Portland.
He has appeared in 49 games this season for the 7ers, starting just six of them and averaging 12.1 minutes. Thybulle will get the chance to show that he can handle a bigger workload.
He’ll be helped by Sacramento’s high paced offense that is helping this game to an over/under of 234.5 points at DraftKings.
