The Los Angeles Lakers vs. Sacramento Kings will make for a high-scoring matchup Wednesday night, and the over/under line reflects that fireworks are in store. Per Caesars Sportsbook, the Lakers-Kings total of 247 points has historic company.

Lakers-Kings Over/Under Total Largest in a While
According to the Caesars, the Lakers-Kings over/under is the largest total in an NBA game since the Washington Wizards vs. Indiana Pacers closed with an over/under of 248.5 on May 8, 2021. That game soared past the total, with the Wizards winning 133-132 in OT.
The Lakers defense has been spotty throughout the season. They currently rank 27th in the NBA in opponents points per game (118.1). Los Angeles has allowed Sacramento to score a whopping 134 points in each of their games this season. The Lakers’ defensive woes have been magnified with Anthony Davis out of the lineup since late December, with the team falling from 20th to 24th in defensive efficiency since the big man has been sidelined.
Sacramento has not been much better at guarding of late. It has allowed 117.0 ppg, with the Lakers scoring 136 points against the Kings on Saturday night.
“The bottom line is, obviously, we have to figure out, somehow, someway, to stop people,” Kings head coach Mike Brown told reporters following the 143-136 loss, per NBC Sports. “Defensively, we are not good at all.
“To have a team come in here and score 136 points on 61 percent shooting and 70 points in the paint, that’s not good.”
LeBron James led the the Lakers on Saturday with a 37-point performance. He enters Wednesday having scored at least 35 points in four of his past six games. He poured in 48 points in a 140-132 win over the Houston Rockets on Monday night.
“I could have very easily took tonight off, but I don’t feel like the momentum of our ballclub could use me taking a night off tonight,” said James, who has been dealing with a sore ankle, per the Los Angeles Times. “I don’t feel like I wanted to sit on that loss [113-112 to the Philadelphia 76ers] last night. I kind of wanted to get that out of my taste buds and see if we win a ballgame tonight.”
James is listed as a game-time decision against the Kings, but we should see some scoring whether or not he suits up.
