Joel Embiid Player Prop: Best Celtics-76ers Bet Today

This game between the only one-loss teams in the Eastern Conference has the makings of being a great one. The Philadelphia 76ers look like one of the few complete basketball teams in the league, with Joel Embiid and Tyrese Maxey running the show. The James Harden saga is finally over, and the Sixers have rolled teams since their opening loss to the Milwaukee Bucks. The Celtics coming into town will be their biggest test to date to see how their new rotation with Nicolas Batum and Robert Covington handles the NBA Finals favorites.

Embiid looks like a man on a mission, eyeing up back-to-back MVPs. Nikola Jokic and Jayson Tatum — who will be on the other side of the court tonight — may have something to say, but Embiid looks completely revamped, especially from a passing standpoint. He’s dished out at least five assists in five of six games this season, with most of them coming from passing out of a double team or working the pick-and-roll with Maxey. Even against a woeful Washington Wizards squad on Monday, Embiid looked like a man on a mission. He finished with 65 points + rebounds + assists in just three quarters and shot a remarkable 10-for-10 from the field in the third quarter for 29 points! He’ll get a much tougher test from the Celtics, but the pace should be ramped up given these two teams and a total of 227.

The Celtics will match Embiid with 7-footer Kristaps Porzingis. Porzingis will undoubtedly stretch the floor for Boston to draw Embiid away from the basket, but Embiid still will have plenty of opportunities to reel in boards. He should have no problem going right at him on the defensive end. With Porzingis on the floor, opponents are rocking a 108 offensive rating. With him off the floor, opponents drop to 105. Al Horford will get time when Porzingis exits but will most likely not start, as Derrick White should return after the birth of his child.

Embiid, barring a blowout, will be in line for 35 minutes tonight. He’s only played in the fourth quarter in three games this season due to the 76ers jumping out to massive leads to start the fourth. In a game with postseason feels and a 1-point spread, expect Embiid to carry the load in all facets and surpass this line for the fifth time in seven games this season.

Best Celtics-76ers Player Prop Bet: Joel Embiid Over 45.5 Points + Rebounds + Assists
