Cross-Sport Parlay Builder: The Los Angeles Special (April 16)

Day 1 of the NBA playoffs was a player prop bettors dream. Stars shined and the last two games were must-watch television. Today both the NBA and MLB are in action all day long. We’re looking to win three cross-sport parlays in a row with our play today. Let’s dive into our cross-sport parlay on FanDuel for Sunday.

Cross-Sport Parlay Builder (-114)

Julio Urias (Los Angeles Dodgers) 5+ Strikeouts (-390)

Julio Urias headlines the MLB leg of the cross-sport parlay. Urias is arguably the best pitcher in the National League at the moment, and bettors are taking notice. He’s listed as the second favorite in terms of betting odds for the Cy Young Award according to FanDuel behind Atlanta Braves star Spencer Strider.

Through two starts this season, Urias has showcased his strikeout ability and has a long leash for the Dodgers. He’s coming off an eight-strikeout game against the San Francisco Giants, who like his opponent today in the Chicago Cubs, rank in the top 5 in strikeout rate against left-handed pitching. The Cubs have faced off against the fewest left-handed pitchers in all of baseball, but starters Martin Perez and Eric Lauer were able to fan at least five Cubs batters in less than six innings of work. Urias is projected to fly through six innings, with the over on his outs being listed at over 17.5 at -180 according to DraftKings.

Ivica Zubac (Los Angeles Clippers) Under 10.5 Rebounds (-200)

The Clippers are always a tough team to figure out in terms of players’ minutes and the overall rotation of the team. They acquired backup center Mason Plumlee from the Charlotte Hornets during the NBA trade deadline, who has dipped into Ivica Zubac’s playing time.

Zubac will have his hands full with the Pheonix Suns’ downhill offense. Deandre Ayton is a tough matchup on his own, but now he has to deal with Devin Booker and Kevin Durant penetrating. Chris Paul will look to put Zubac in plenty of pick-and-rolls and drive him away from the basket.

Zubac has stayed under 11 rebounds in 62% of games this season and an even better 70% in the last 30. If Zubac is getting exposed on defense, look for coach Tyron  Lue to pull the plug early on his starting big man.
