The Phoenix Suns will take on the San Antonio Spurs again tonight. When these teams last met on Tuesday, we saw a fantastic late-game comeback from the Spurs. Fortunately for the Suns, it sounds like Devin Booker has a better chance of playing tonight than in recent days. Let’s look at the most recent Devin Booker injury updates as we assess whether he will be playing in Thursday night’s game against the San Antonio Spurs. Devin Booker Injury Update: Is Phoenix’s Star Playing Tonight?
Devin Booker Injury Update
The Phoenix Suns have been dealing with some major injuries to their new Big Three to start the season. Devin Booker has played just once, leading the team to a win over the Golden State Warriors on Opening Night, while Bradley Beal is yet to take the court. The Suns have still managed a solid 2-2 record that would’ve been 3-1 but for some late-game heroics by the Spurs.
Booker has been dealing with an ankle injury early in the year that has either limited or sidelined him in most practices. However, it sounds like Booker is trending in the right direction. After multiple games with a doubtful designation, Booker has picked up a questionable tag for tonight. Suns Run The West reports Booker will play tonight, just one day after FanDuel TV reported that Booker was further along in the recovery process than Beal.
Is Devin Booker Playing for Phoenix Tonight?
So is Devin Booker playing tonight? It’s possible. Although Suns Run The West’s reporting hasn’t been confirmed — let’s be real, how likely is it that they scooped Shams or Woj? — even a broken clock is right twice per day. Booker is certainly trending in the right direction and even looked pretty good in the one game we saw him earlier this year.
The Suns are trading as an 8.5-point favorite over the Spurs tonight, but most books haven’t started taking action on Booker’s player props. Phoenix was a 7-point favorite over San Antonio before Tuesday’s game, so the line moving in Phoenix’s favor despite the Suns actually losing the first game suggests at least some speculative action has come in on the Suns. To me, it’s a tossup whether Booker will play, but if you’re feeling lucky, why not back the Suns to cover the 8.5 at bet365 before the line closes closer to 10 if Booker plays?
