The New York Knicks will host the Sacramento Kings tonight as both teams look to assert themselves in their respective conferences. The Knicks just officially lost Julius Randle for the season, which puts a damper on things for them, while the Kings are dealing with big injuries of their own to Kevin Huerter and Malik Monk. Keep reading for our top Kings-Knicks bet, which is a player prop pick for Domantas Sabonis. Domantas Sabonis Player Prop: Best Kings-Knicks Bet Today
Kings-Knicks Player Prop Pick: Domantas Sabonis O/U 32.5 Points & Rebounds
We’re fading Domantas Sabonis today against the Knicks. He is trading with positive expected value (+EV) to stay under 14.5 rebounds at odds of -135 at BetMGM, but we’re mixing in his points line (18.5), the under for which is trading at -118 on Pinnacle, for some extra value. We’re losing a half point and board to get it at 32.5, but we’re making up for it by getting this Kings-Knicks player prop bet at odds of -109 on Caesars.
For starters, that price at Caesars is mostly in line with the market, but most other books are taking action on this one at -110 or -120. FanDuel even lists this bet for the stingy price of -125. Pinnacle doesn’t take action on this combo market, but Sabonis is also trading with +EV to stay under 41.5 PRA at odds of -115 because the sharp book lists the same bet for odds of -144.
Sabonis, who relies on uncontested rebounds and interior scoring, will struggle against a New York Knicks team that doesn’t allow much of either. Sabonis is averaging a monstrous 25.3 rebound chances per game since the All-Star Break but is coming down with only 14.9 boards, only 37.2% of which were contested.
He’ll have to deal with Precious Achiuwa tonight, who boasts the second-highest contested rebound rate (50.6%) since the break among players averaging 24 or more minutes per game, and possibly Mitchell Robinson, whose contested rebound rate clocks in at 60%.
As far as scoring goes, New York ranks fifth in points in the paint allowed per game this year (46.5) and ranks first since the All-Star Break (43). This corresponds to the third-fewest points per game allowed to centers on the year (20.1) and the fifth-fewest over the last 15 games (21.1).
