De’Aaron Fox M/L Than 9.5 Assists + Rebounds
De’Aaron Fox and the Sacramento Kings face a tough challenge against one of the league’s top teams: the Oklahoma City Thunder.
The Thunder not only hold the best record in the Western Conference but also rank first in the NBA in defensive rating and opponent effective field goal percentage. Going up against such an elite defense is always a tough task for an opponent’s top player—in this case, Fox.
If Oklahoma City effectively contains him as a scorer, Fox can still make a significant impact by facilitating the offense. He leads the Kings with 11.7 potential assists per game and averages six actual assists. Additionally, he pulls down about five rebounds per game.
However, if Fox does end up being contained effectively, he still has many outlets to consider choosing from to pass it to and hopefully contribute to their offense in that fashion. I believe Fox will provide a strong impact with his assists tonight.
While DraftKings Pick6 doesn’t offer a standalone assist prop for Fox, pairing his assists with rebounds provides a solid angle. Stokastic’s NBA DFS projections have him at five assists and five boards, but I expect him to surpass that assist total tonight.
DraftKings Pick6 Prediction: De’Aaron Fox More Than 9.5 Assists + Rebounds
D’Angelo Russell M/L Than 8.5 Assists + Rebounds
Our second pick of the night follows a similar approach, this time with D’Angelo Russell of the Brooklyn Nets.
Since being traded to Brooklyn midseason, Russell has transformed into a more effective playmaker. He has boosted his assist average to 7.4 per game, owns an impressive 51% assist rate, and leads the Nets with 14.8 potential assists per game.
As with De’Aaron Fox, facing a strong defense often forces primary ball handlers to create opportunities for their teammates. That will likely be the case tonight, as Russell takes on one of the NBA’s better defensive teams—the Houston Rockets.
In addition to assists, we also need Russell to contribute on the boards. Since joining Brooklyn, his rebounding average has increased slightly to 3.3 per game.
Stokastic’s NBA DFS projections have Russell at six assists and three rebounds tonight. I’m even more bullish on his potential playmaking tonight, but it’s reassuring to have those projections backing the pick.
DraftKings Pick6 Prediction: D’Angelo Russell More Than 8.5 Assists + Rebounds
