A recent spike in dimes from Murray has moved this assist line north of seven. We’ve seen some explosions in the assists market from Murray as recently as Tuesday against the Timberwolves. The issue comes with tonight’s opponent regardless of them playing the Knicks in Denver. New York is 3-0 against the spread in the last three against the Nuggets and has won four straight.
While Murray has seen a recent increase in passing performance, this game warrants more of a scoring mode for the Nuggets point guard. Denver could certainly blow out the Knicks, especially with some revenge on the line. Wendell Carter Jr. M/L 12.5 Points
The Magic enter tonight’s game against the visiting Pelicans as 3-point dogs. Neither of these teams is showing much weakness. Both have won eight of their last 10, riding win streaks of at least three games, and are two of the biggest surprise teams in their respective conferences. In a game with a tight spread featuring two good teams, all Carter needs to do is score 13 points to cover.
Not so fast. While the Magic are winning games, that hasn’t translated into more shots for Carter. Even in two straight games against bad teams, Carter was limited to six and eight shots. That’s just not going to get it done against this frontcourt in New Orleans. This is a tough matchup for one of the lesser scoring options for the Magic, especially if Orlando finds a way to win this game.
The true odds from OddsShopper put this at -159, as we get the break knowing the implied odds are only -136 for Carter. That +EV spot is always worth attacking, especially when the numbers help support the play.
DraftKings Pick6 Prediction: Wendell Carter Jr. LESS Than 12.5 Points
Bradley Beal M/L 5.5 Assists
The Suns are healthy, and Grayson Allen is unconscious from deep. This team dealt with the normal issues of throwing together three really good players and the injuries that came after. Now finally healthy, it takes on a Raptors team that’s won four straight over Phoenix. The Suns got a big bonus Thursday night against the 76ers as Kevin Durant continued his assault on the all-time scoring list, but for tonight that should shift back to both Devin Booker and Bradley Beal.
The latter comes off a bad shooting night where Beal only hit one of his six field goal attempts. Of course, with Allen knocking down 3’s from everywhere and Durant unstoppable from the floor, Beal didn’t need to do much but pass and rebound. Don’t expect a similar game plan tonight against the Raptors, no matter how weak or dead Toronto may seem. Beal should turn around his poor shooting performance, limiting some passing opportunities in the process. With more points comes fewer assists, at least not getting him to six dimes.
The true odds on OddsShopper put this play at -152, so there is a clear edge between that and the -136 implied odds.
